Edgar González Estrada (born 1 April 1997) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for La Liga club Real Betis as a centre-back. Club career Born in Sant Joan Despí, Barcelona, Catalonia, González joined RCD Espanyol's youth setup in July 2015, from UE Cornellà. On 1 July 2016, after finishing his formation, he returned to his previous club Cornellà, on loan for one year. González made his senior debut on 31 August 2016, playing the last 33 minutes in a 2–1 home defeat of UD San Sebastián de los Reyes, for the season's Copa del Rey. The following 3 July, after 13 appearances, he renewed his contract with the ''Pericos'' until 2020 and remained on loan at Cornellà for one further season. On 6 July 2018, González agreed to a contract with Real Betis, being initially assigned to the reserves in Tercera División. 2019–20 Tercera División
The 2019–20 Tercera División is the fourth tier of Spanish football. It began in August 2019 and was supposed to end in late June 2020 with the promotion play-off finals. On 11 March 2020, the season was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain. On 6 May 2020, the Royal Spanish Football Federation announced the premature end of the leagues, revoking all relegations and planning an eventual promotion playoff to be played if possible. Segunda División B ( en, Second Division B) was the third tier of the Spanish football league system containing 102 teams divided into five groups, until it was replaced by the new structure in 2021. It was administered by the Royal Spanish Football Federation. 2019–20 Segunda División
The 2019–20 Segunda División season, also known as LaLiga SmartBank for sponsorship reasons, was the 89th since its establishment. On 12 March 2020 after most of teams had played 31 games, the league was suspended for at least two weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain. The league was suspended indefinitely on 23 March. The season recommenced on 10 June and was initially planned to be completed on 20 July. On 20 July 2020, the final day of the regular season, Deportivo La Coruña's match against Fuenlabrada was suspended indefinitely due to several Fuenlabrada players testing positive for COVID-19, therefore, delaying the official end of the season.
