Edesio Alejandro
Edesio Alejandro Rodríguez Salva (born March 28, 1958) is a Cuban composer of electronic music. He has composed music for theatre plays, TV, and movies; as well as several concert compositions. Many of them experimental, using synthesizers and mixing together actors, dancers, and musicians in unusual line-ups (1). His rock opera ''Violente'', of 1987, is considered the first rock opera in Latin America (1). His band, active since 1988, has an eclectic and innovative sound, using Cuban styles such as rumba and conga in fusion with foreign genres such as rap, funk, soul, and hip-hop (1). Edesio Alejandro has played in South America, Canada, and Europe. His albums ''Orisha Dreams'' and ''Black Angel'' were among the first 100 of World Music in Europe in 1999. The documentary was filmed with fictional cinema techniques depicting a day in a life of thirteen real people, from a ten-year-old child with Down syndrome to a 79-year-old lady who sells peanuts in the street. Juan Carlos Cremata Malberti (born November 18, 1961 in Havana, Cuba) is a Cuban film director. He started his career as an author and actor for children's TV shows made for the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television from 1981 to 1987. He is known for directing the movie '' Viva Cuba'', which received the Best Children's Film award at the Cannes International Film Festival in 2005. Biography Childhood Cremata Malberti grew up in Havana's Vedado district, with his mother Iraida Malberti Cabrera, a choreographer and film director who used to work in children's television. Jorge Luis Sánchez (born 1960 in Havana) is a Cuban film director. He was a founder of the ''Federación Nacional de Cine Clubes de Cuba'' - the Nacional Federation of Cine Clubs of Cuba. He started to work in ICAIC in 1981 as camera assistant, and later as assistant director. His first feature ''El Benny'' was presented at the Locarno International Film Festival in August 2006, where its star Renny Arozarena won the Boccalino prize for best performance for protagonist in all sections of festival. The film was Cuba's candidate for the Academy Awards. Sánchez is distantly related to Benny Moré, the subject of this film. A blue moon is an additional full moon that appears in a subdivision of a year: the third of four full moons in a season. The phrase in modern usage has nothing to do with the actual color of the Moon, although a visually blue Moon (the Moon appearing with a bluish tinge) may occur under certain atmospheric conditions—for instance, if volcanic eruptions or fires release particles in the atmosphere of just the right size to preferentially scatter red light. Fernando Pérez Valdés (born 1944) is a prominent Cuban film director. Career Pérez graduated from the University of Havana with a degree in Language and Spanish Literature, and began working in the Cuban film industry in 1971 as an assistant director, before directing his first documentary in 1975. His feature debut was the drama '' Clandestinos'' (1987) but it was not until ''Madagascar'' (1994) that he garnered significant international recognition.
