Eddie Stevens
Eddie Stevens is a British keyboardist, record producer, composer and arranger, best known for co-writing, arranging and touring with the UK groups Freakpower (with Norman Cook aka Fat Boy Slim); Moloko (as of 2000); and Zero 7. He continued to work with the Moloko frontwoman, Róisín Murphy, on her solo projects since 2004. After helping Murphy sequence the songs on '' Ruby Blue'', Stevens became part of her live band throughout the 2005 European 'Ruby Blue' tour. In late 2007 and early 2008 Stevens toured with Murphy on her 'Overpowered' tour throughout Europe. More recently he worked on the album ''Some People Have Real Problems'' with Australian vocalist Sia (which was released in early 2008). Stevens also forms half of the London-based electronic duo, Post Office; the other half being Daniel Darriba. Freakpower
Freak Power was a band founded by bassist Norman Cook (later known as Fatboy Slim), Ashley Slater (the trombonist with the anarchic British jazz big band Loose Tubes), and vocalist Jesse Graham, also known as "the Bass Cadet". Their music was a mix of acid jazz, funk, Soul (music), soul, and trip hop. Although not credited, the London-based session bass player Dale Davis recorded bass and guitar on their debut album ''Drive-Thru Booty''. Discography The single "Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out" was a minor hit on the UK Singles Chart when released in 1993. Fat Boy Slim
Norman Quentin Cook (born Quentin Leo Cook, 31 July 1963), also known by his stage name Fatboy Slim, is an English musician, DJ, and record producer who helped to popularise the big beat genre in the 1990s. In the 1980s, Cook was the bassist for the Hull-based indie rock band the Housemartins, who achieved a UK number-one single with their a cappella cover of "Caravan of Love". After the Housemartins split up, Cook formed the electronic band Beats International in Brighton, who produced the number-one single "Dub Be Good to Me". He then played in Freak Power, Pizzaman, and the Mighty Dub Katz with moderate success. Moloko
Moloko () were an Irish-English electronic music duo formed in Sheffield, England, consisting of vocalist Róisín Murphy and producer Mark Brydon. Blending elements of electronica and dance music, they are best known for their UK top 10 singles " The Time Is Now" (2000) and "Familiar Feeling" (2003), as well as the 1999 Boris Dlugosch remix of " Sing It Back" which became an international hit. Zero 7 are an English musical duo consisting of Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker. They began as studio engineers and in 1997 formed the group Zero 7. Their debut album, '' Simple Things'', was released in 2001 in which their song "Destiny" stayed in the top 100 of the UK Single Charts. Subsequent albums include ''When It Falls'', '' The Garden'', and ''Yeah Ghost''. ''Ruby Blue'' is the debut solo studio album by Irish singer Róisín Murphy. It was released on 13 June 2005 by Echo. After she and Mark Brydon dissolved their electronic music duo Moloko, Murphy began working with producer and musician Matthew Herbert. The songs were first released through three extended plays and were then compiled into a studio album. The album often samples sounds made by everyday objects and actions, including cosmetics, brass mice, dancing and ornaments. ''Some People Have Real Problems'' (sometimes stylised as ''Some People Have REAL Problems'') is the fourth studio album by Australian singer Sia. Released in 2008, the album featured singles including "Day Too Soon", " The Girl You Lost to Cocaine" and "Soon We'll Be Found". In live performances of the latter song, Sia used sign language to accompany her singing. The album displays a more upbeat pop-style than Sia's previous downbeat albums, whilst show-casing Sia's vocals on a number of big ballads. ''Hairless Toys'' is the third solo studio album by Irish singer Róisín Murphy. It was released on 8 May 2015 by Play It Again Sam. It is Murphy's first full-length release since 2007's ''Overpowered''. The album was nominated for Best Irish Album of 2015 at the Choice Music Prize and the 2015 Mercury Music Prize. In 2016, it was awarded a silver certification from the Independent Music Companies Association, indicating sales of at least 20,000 copies throughout Europe. ''Take Her Up to Monto'' is the fourth solo studio album by Irish singer Róisín Murphy. It was released on 8 July 2016 by Play It Again Sam. The album was co-produced with longtime collaborator Eddie Stevens during the same five-week session period that resulted in Murphy's previous album, '' Hairless Toys'' (2015). Background ''Take Her Up to Monto'' was recorded during the same sessions as Murphy's 2015 album '' Hairless Toys'', and included producer and longtime collaborator Eddie Stevens. The title is derived from an Irish folk song of the same name, popularised by The Dubliners in the 1960s, which Murphy's father sang to her as a child.
