Eddie Eastwood
Edmund Eastwood (7 January 1902 – 15 July 1981) was an English professional footballer who played as a full-back. Born in Nelson, Lancashire, he began his football career with local club Barrowford. In June 1920, he signed as an amateur for Nelson, who at the time played in the Central League. Eastwood became a regular fixture in the club's reserve team, helping them to the North East Lancashire Combination title in 1921. He made his Football League Third Division North debut for Nelson on 1 October 1921 in the 1–1 draw with Darlington at Seedhill. Eastwood played every reserve team match in the 1921–22 season and was rewarded with a professional contract in May 1922. His second League appearance for Nelson came on 2 April 1923 in the 1–2 loss away at Wrexham. Nelson is a town and civil parishes in England, civil parish in the Borough of Pendle in Lancashire, England, with a population of 29,135 in 2011. It is 4 miles (6.4 km) north of Burnley and 2.5 miles southwest of Colne. Harry Clayton (footballer)
Harry Clayton (born 1904, date of death unknown) was an English professional footballer who played in several defensive positions. Born in Nelson, Lancashire, he played four matches in the Football League for Nelson in the 1925–26 season. Playing career As a junior, Clayton played for Hebden Bridge, before joining the "A" team at Stoke in 1922. He never progressed to the first team, and signed for Lancashire Combination club Chorley in April 1924. The following month, Clayton joined his hometown team Nelson, who played in the Football League Third Division North. Throughout the 1924–25 season, he played solely in the reserve team at Nelson. The following campaign, he again featured often in the reserves, helping them to the Lancashire Combination title in 1926. Darwen is a market town and civil parish in the Blackburn with Darwen borough in Lancashire, England. The residents of the town are known as "Darreners". The Lancashire Football Association Challenge Trophy is an English football competition for senior non-league clubs who are members of the Lancashire County Football Association. The trophy was first played for in 1885, when it was known as the Lancashire Junior Cup. It is currently sponsored by Partners Foundation and is known as The Partners Foundation Challenge Trophy. Although officially the junior cup to the Lancashire Senior Cup it is still regarded as just as important as other county cup competitions.
