Edavappathy
''Edavappathy'' () is a 2016 Indian Malayalam-language drama film written and directed by Lenin Rajendran. It deals with the story of the mental conflicts of a Tibetan Buddhist priest. Siddharth Lama plays the male lead with Utthara Unni opposite him. Manisha Koirala also plays a leading role. Art director was Suresh Kollam. Mohan Sitara and Ramesh Narayan composed the music. The film won three Kerala State Film Awards. 46th Kerala State Film Awards
The awards were announced by minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan in Thiruvananthapuram on 1 March 2016. The winners in the fiction category were selected by a jury headed by veteran filmmaker Mohan. The other jury members were George Kithu, M.A Venu, Sulakshana, Sharath, B R Prasad, Venugopal, Premchand, Dr Soman, and C.R Rajamohan. The jury for nonfiction category consisted of Rajeev Gopalakrishnan, Pavitran, C.R Rajamohan, and was headed by S. Jayachandran Nair. The J. C. Daniel Award was awarded to K. G. Lenin Rajendran
Lenin Rajendran ( ml, ലെനിൻ രാജേന്ദ്രൻ) was an Indian film director and screenwriter who worked in Malayalam cinema. He served as the Chairman of Kerala State Film Development Corporation from 2016 to January 2019. Career Beginning his film-making career as an assistant to director P. A. Siddharth Lama
Siddarth Lama ( ne, सिद्धार्थ लामा) (born 1985; Pokhara, Nepal) is a Nepali film actor. Outside Nepal he is best known for his memorable role as the Rimpoche in the Malayalam film '' Yoddha'' (1992). He has since played the lead role in Lenin Rajendran's Malayalam film ''Edavappathy'' (2016). Personal life Siddharth is the son of the Nepali film maker and actor Yubraj Lama. He is a graduate in management and works with the Nepal National Sports Council. Utthara Unni is an Indian Bharatanatyam dancer from Kerala. She has directed some short films, documentaries and music videos. She also acted in two films. She heads a dance academy called Temple Steps in Kochi, Kerala. Ramesh Narayan
Ramesh Narayan (born 3 November 1959) is an Indian classical vocalist, composer and music producer who works predominantly in Malayalam cinema. He belongs to the Mewati gharana of Hindustani classical music. Narayan began his initial training in Carnatic music and later mastered the classical Hindustani style under the renowned Pandit Jasraj. Narayan began his career composing score music for documentaries, films and Indian television programs in Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil. Madhushree Narayan
Madhushree Narayan (born 4 February 1999) is an Indian playback singer and a classical singer. She has received Kerala State Film Awards for Best Female Playback Singer in 2015 and 2019 and received Kerala Film Critics Award 2014. Career Madhushree has been singing from the age of three and began learning music formally from her father Pandit Ramesh Narayan and later from Pandit Jasraj. Presently, she is learning nuances and styles of Thumri from Pandit Ajay Pohankar. Kerala State Film Award For Best Dubbing Artist
The Kerala State Film Award for Best Dubbing Artist is an award presented annually at the Kerala State Film Awards of India to the best dubbing in Malayalam film industry. Ideally, there is a male and female winner for the award. Until 1997, the awards were managed directly by the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Government of Kerala. The Kerala State Film Awards are the film awards for a motion picture made in Kerala. The awards started in 1969 by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala and since 1998 the awards have been bestowed by Kerala State Chalachitra Academy on behalf of the Department of Cultural Affairs. The awardees are decided by an independent jury formed by the academy and the Department of Cultural Affairs, Govt. of Kerala. The jury usually consists of eminent personalities from the film field.
