Eda Tuğsuz (born 27 March 1997) is a Turkish track and field athlete who competes in the javelin throw. She competed in the javelin throw at the 2016 European Championships in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In 2013, she won at the European Youth Summer Olympic Festival. Tuğsuz holds Turkish record with a throw of 67.21 m. Athletics at the 2020 Summer Olympics were held during the last ten days of the Games. They were due to be held from 31 July – 9 August 2020, at the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo, Japan. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the games were postponed to 2021, with the track and field events set for 30 July – 8 August. The 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships () was the seventeenth edition of the biennial, global athletics competition organised by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), since renamed World Athletics. The women's javelin throw at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Olympic Stadium on 6 and 8 August. Summary Olympic gold medalist Sara Kolak's second throw took the lead at 64.95 metres. Her lead lasted only two throws before world record holder, at age 36, Barbora Špotáková threw , which turned out to be the winner.
