Edwin Andrew Sparr (July 29, 1898 – May 19, 1974) was a player in the National Football League for the Racine Tornadoes in 1926 as a tackle. He played at the collegiate level at Carroll University. Racine Legion/Tornadoes
The Racine Legion was a professional American football team based in Racine, Wisconsin, of the National Football League from 1922 to 1924. Its official name was the Horlick-Racine Legion. The team then operated as the Racine Tornadoes in 1926. History In 1915, the Racine Regulars formed Wisconsin's first important semi-professional team. They primarily played against teams from Illinois and Indiana. The team became known as the Racine Battery C in 1916 after many of the players joined the First Wisconsin Reserve Artillery Battery C. Carroll University is a private university affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA) and located in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Hazelhurst is a town in Oneida County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,267 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated community of Hazelhurst is located in the town. Hazelhurst describes itself as the "Quiet side of the North Woods." Wausau East High School
Wausau East High School is a public secondary school in Wausau, Wisconsin. It serves grades 9-12 for the Wausau School District. History The first high school in Wausau was a two-room school house built in 1880 and occupied by multiple grades. When Washington School was erected as the high school in 1889 for $12,400, the city thought the school was too big. In 1897, when the school became overcrowded, five rooms in the court house were rented for classroom space. In 1898, a new high school was built at the cost of $65,000 by Van Ryn and DeGelleke of Milwaukee, on the corner of Seventh and Eighth Streets. Far from the center of the city, many city residents complained that it was too distant and others thought it was too large. The school opened its doors in 1900. Charles C.
