Ed Patterson
Edward Patterson (born November 14, 1972) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. Patterson is currently the head coach of the Kamloops Storm of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League. Biography Patterson was born in Delta, British Columbia. As a youth, he played in the 1986 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from North Delta, British Columbia. He played three seasons of junior hockey in the Western Hockey League and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Seattle Thunderbirds are a major junior ice hockey team based in the city of Kent, Washington, south of Seattle. The 1993–94 Pittsburgh Penguins season was the Penguins' 27th season in the National Hockey League (NHL). Offseason Regular season The Penguins moved into the newly formed Northeast Division (competing against the teams that made up the old Adams Division) and won their third division crown in four seasons. This season marked the return to the Penguins and to the bench of head coach Eddie Johnston. 1993–94 NHL Season
The 1993–94 NHL season was the 77th regular season of the National Hockey League. The league expanded to 26 teams with the addition of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and the Florida Panthers. The New York Rangers defeated the Vancouver Canucks in seven games to become the Stanley Cup champions. It was the Rangers' fourth championship overall, and their first in 54 seasons, since 1939–40. The spectacular play of Dominik Hasek of the Buffalo Sabres ushered in a new era of goaltending dominance in the NHL. Only three teams reached the 300-goal plateau, and only one team, the Detroit Red Wings, averaged more than four goals scored per game. The International Hockey League (IHL) was a minor professional ice hockey league in the United States and Canada that operated from 1945 to 2001. The IHL served as the National Hockey League's alternate Farm team, farm system to the American Hockey League (AHL). After 56 years of operation, financial instability led to the league's demise. Kamloops Blazers
The Kamloops Blazers are a junior ice hockey team in the Western Hockey League (WHL). The team plays in the B.C. Division of the Western Conference, is based out of Kamloops, British Columbia, and play home games at Sandman Centre. The Blazers originated as the Estevan Bruins in 1966, became the New Westminster Bruins in 1971, and relocated to Kamloops in 1981 as the Kamloops Junior Oilers.
