Bruce Eckel
Bruce Eckel (born ) is a computer programmer, author, and consultant. Eckel's best known works are ''Thinking in Java'' and the two-volume series ''Thinking in C++'', aimed at programmers wanting to learn the Java (programming language), Java or C++ programming languages, respectively, particularly those with little experience of object-oriented programming. Eckel was a founding member of the ANSI/International Organization for Standardization, ISO ISO/IEC 14882, C++ standard committee. Horst Eckel
Horst Eckel (8 February 1932 – 3 December 2021) was a German footballer who played as a wing-half. He was part of the West Germany national team that won the 1954 FIFA World Cup. He was the last surviving player of the 1954 World Cup Final. Club career Eckel debuted in 1. FC Kaiserslautern's first team in 1947 at the age of 15. He won the German football championship with Kaiserslautern in 1951 and 1953. Eckel was playing as a right half back. As a player, Eckel was assiduous and adroit. Because of his rapid way of playing, he got the nickname ''Windhund'' (sighthound). He later played for SV Röchling Völklingen in the Regionalliga Südwest. International career Eckel was part of the West German team that won the 1954 FIFA World Cup and achieved the " Miracle of Bern". Kyle Eckel
Kyle Richard Eckel (born December 30, 1981) is an American former professional football fullback who played in the National Football League (NFL). He was signed by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2005 and won Super Bowl XLIV with the New Orleans Saints, beating the Indianapolis Colts. He played college football at Navy. Eckel was also a member of the Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles. Early life and education Eckel attended Holy Spirit School in South Philadelphia throughout elementary school, where he played baseball and basketball. He played football for St. Monica's School, as Holy Spirit didn't have a program. Malcolm David Eckel
Malcolm David Eckel is Professor of Religion and Director of the Institute for Philosophy and Religion at Boston University, US. Early life and education Eckel received a B.A. from Harvard University, a B.A. and M.A. from Oxford University. While at Oxford, he studied Sanskrit. He received a Ph.D. in the Study of Religion from Harvard in 1980, focusing on the Buddhist traditions of India, Tibet and Southeast Asia. From 1978-1980 he was an Instructor in Religion at Middlebury College. While studying for his PhD, Eckel taught at Ohio Wesleyan Uni (Delaware). On completion of his doctorate, he taught at Harvard’s Division School for 5 years. He was also the Administrative Director of the Harvard Center for the Study of World Religions.
