picture info	Ecca Group The Ecca Group is the second of the main subdivisions of the Karoo Supergroup of geological strata in southern Africa. It mainly follows conformably after the Dwyka Group in some sections, but in some localities overlying unconformably over much older basement rocks. It underlies the Beaufort Group in all known outcrops and exposures. Based on stratigraphic position, lithostratigraphic correlation, palynological analyses, and other means of geological dating, the Ecca Group ranges between Early to earliest Middle Permian (Asselian - Roadian) in age. Background During the time of the deposition of the Ecca Group, the depositional environment, with some exceptions, was predominantly marine. 	Ecca Pass Ecca Pass, is situated in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, on the regional road R67, between Grahamstown and Fort Beaufort. It was the first pass built by Andrew Geddes Bain as part of the Queen's Road. 	Ecca Vandal Ecca Vandal is a South African-born, Tamil, Sri Lankan artist. She is a singer-songwriter and rapper currently living in Melbourne, Australia. To date Ecca Vandal has released one self-titled studio album and one EP: ''End of Time''. Early life Ecca was born in Louis Trichardt, South Africa to Sri Lankan Tamil refugees. When she was a child her parents chose to leave the country with Ecca and her older sisters in the late 1980s due to the Apartheid segregation. They moved to Australia and decided to settle in Melbourne. Vandal grew up listening to gospel music, and as Vandal recalled she "got into ersister's record collection, soul and hip hop and '90s RnB.
