Ebony Rolph
Ebony Rolph (born 16 August 1994) is an Australian professional basketball player who plays for the Bendigo Spirit in the Women's National Basketball League. Professional career WNBL Rolph made her professional debut with the Spirit in 2015. With the Spirit, she played alongside the likes of Kelsey Griffin, Gabrielle Richards and Kelly Wilson, coming off the bench. Rolph has been re-signed for the 2016–17 season. In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Bendigo Spirit
Bendigo Spirit is one of three Victorian basketball teams in the Australian Women's National Basketball League. The team, based in the regional city of Bendigo, Victoria, joined the competition from the 2007/08 season. History The Bendigo Spirit were formed in 2007 and started playing out of Bendigo Stadium, the first side based in regional Victoria. Coached by Bernie Harrower, the team was led by his daughter, Australian Opal and captain, Kristi Harrower. FIBA 3x3 Under-18 World Championships
The FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup is an under-18 basketball tournament run by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) since 2011. The tournament was known as the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championships until the 2016 edition. History The event was held for the first time in Rimini, Italy, in September 2011 and has been held annually since then. The tournament was not held in 2014 and 2018 due to 3x3 basketball being an event at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics and 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. In 2020, it was not held due to COVID-19 pandemic. The Australia women's national under-19 basketball team is the women's basketball team representing Australia for all international under-19, under-18, and under-17 women's basketball competitions, including the U19 Women's World Cup, Asian Championship, and the Oceania Championship. Women's National Basketball League
The Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) is the pre-eminent professional women's basketball league in Australia. It is currently composed of eight teams. The league was founded in 1981 and is the women's counterpart to the National Basketball League (NBL). Several WNBL teams have NBL counterparts. The Adelaide Lightning, Melbourne Boomers, Perth Lynx, Southside Flyers and Sydney Uni Flames are the current WNBL teams sharing a market with an NBL team (the Townsville Fire and University of Canberra Capitals shared a market with the Townsville Crocodiles and Canberra Cannons respectively, before both NBL clubs became defunct). Kelsey Griffin
Kelsey Michelle Griffin (born July 2, 1987) is an American-Australian professional women's basketball player. She was drafted 3rd overall in the 2010 WNBA Draft. Griffin played college basketball with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Griffin was named to many All-America teams and was the winner of the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. Griffin is currently playing for the University of Canberra Capitals in the Australian WNBL. Having obtained Australian citizenship in November 2015, Griffin pledged her allegiance to Australia before the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Gabrielle Richards (born 19 November 1984) is an Australian professional basketball player. Career WNBL Richards began her WNBL career with the Australian Institute of Sport. She would then return to Victoria and play for the newest franchise, the Bendigo Spirit. During her time with the Spirit, Richards has won two WNBL Championships alongside the likes of Kristi Harrower and Kelsey Griffin. Richards is also a two-time awardee to the WNBL All-Star Five. Richards will return to the Spirit for her tenth season, after signing on for 2017–18. Kelly Wilson
Kelly Louise Wilson (born 1 January 1984) is an Australian professional basketball player. Early life Wilson was born in Melbourne, Victoria, and grew up in the Victorian country town of Leongatha. She played her junior basketball for Leongatha Basketball Association. Career WNBL Wilson made her WNBL debut with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in 2002 and won the WNBL Rookie of the Year.
