Ebrahim Hamedi ( fa, اِبراهیم حامدی, also Romanized as "Ebrāhim Hāmedi"; born 1949), better known by his stage name Ebi (Persian: ), is an Iranian pop singer who first started his career in Tehran, gaining fame as part of a band, and later as a solo performer. He moved to Los Angeles in 1977, two years before the 1979 revolution in Iran, and continued his career in exile. He also received the title of Mr Voice of the World at the festival. Over 50 years, Ebi has released close to 200 singles, and over 30 albums. Early life and career Born in Khorramdareh, he is the eldest of six siblings. Inspired by the Beatles, he formed a beat band known as "the Rebels" with Shahram Shabpareh and Siavash Ghomayshi in the mid 60's. He was also a part of the "Sunboys" and "Black cats" bands, before embarking on a career as a solo singer. Shadmehr aghili ( fa, شادمهر عقیلی; born 27 January 1973) is an Iranian pop singer, musician, composer, music arranger, producer and song-writer, and formerly an actor. He revitalized music culture post-revolution in Iran, Aghili was born in Tehran, Iran and later emigrated to Canada first, but currently resides in Los Angeles. Biography Career Aghili started early in music and studied piano, guitar and violin, graduated from the Tehran Conservatory of Music. He has worked at the IRIB (the official broadcasting of Iran) for a while. ''Persia's Got Talent'' ( fa, پرشیاز گات تلنت) with acronym PGT is a spin-off of the British talent show ''Got Talent'' aimed at Persian-speaking audiences across the world, mainly in Iran ( also known as "Persia"). It is produced outside Iran and is aired on MBC Persia, part of the Middle East Broadcasting Center, since 31 January 2020. The first season was filmed in Sweden, which is home to a large Persian-speaking population. As in other ''Got Talent'' shows, competitors of Persia's Got Talent perform for judges and audience votes and the winner receives a cash prize. The contest is open to anyone speaking Persian. Mina Assadi ( fa, مینا اسدی; born March 12, 1943) is an Iranian-born poet, author, journalist and songwriter who lives in exile in Stockholm, Sweden. Author She is known for writing about controversial and provocative subjects, especially when she describes the fight against the Iranian government. In 2007 she wrote the poem called "Pimps" (Djakesha). It caused a lot of discussion for being too vulgar. The poem is about those who live in Iran and in exile who have forgotten the struggle. Fereydoun Farrokhzad
Fereydoun Farrokhzad ( fa, فریدون فرخزاد; October 7, 1938 – August 3, 1992) was an Iranian showman, host, poet, actor, political activist, singer, humanitarian, and writer. He is best known for his television variety show ''The Silver Carnation'' which introduced many artists such as Ebi, Leila Forouhar, Shohreh, Sattar and many more. Farrokhzad was forced into exile after the Islamic Revolution in 1979. Farhad Mehrad (20 January 1944 – 31 August 2002), commonly known as Farhad, was an Iranian pop, rock, and folk singer, songwriter, guitarist and pianist, who released the first English rock and roll album in Iran. Siavash Ghomayshi ( fa, سیاوش قمیشی; born 11 June 1945, Ahvaz) is an Iranian musician, singer and song writer. Siavash studied music in London where he got his master's degree.
