Eben Etzebeth (born 29 October 1991) is a South African professional rugby union player who currently plays for the South Africa national team and Sharks in the United Rugby Championship. His regular playing position is as a number 4 lock. Eben Britton (born October 14, 1987) is a former American football offensive tackle who played six seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Selected 39th overall in the 2009 NFL Draft, he spent four years with the Jacksonville Jaguars followed by two with the Chicago Bears, last playing football in 2014. Britton started 23 games at right tackle, 7 at left guard, and 4 as a sixth eligible lineman, for a total of 34 career starts in 60 games played. He played college football at Arizona. Eben Alexander (March 9, 1851 – March 11, 1910) was an American scholar, educator, dean, and diplomat. Life and career Alexander was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, on March 9, 1851, to Judge Ebenezer Alexander and Margaret White McClung. Alexander attended the University of Tennessee (then known as East Tennessee University) for two years, then matriculated to Yale in 1869 where he graduated in 1873 with an A.B. He was initiated into Yale's Skull and Bones in 1873. After graduation, Alexander returned to Knoxville and taught Greek at the University of Tennessee, from 1873 to 1886, first as an instructor and then as Professor. In 1886, he moved to the University of North Carolina, in Chapel Hill, where from 1886 to 1893 he was Professor of Greek language and literature. Eben Burgoon (born 1979) is an American-born comic author and educator best known for the webcomic series Eben 07: Covert Custodian and B-Squad: Soldiers of Misfortune. He is currently working on his independent series, Tiny Wizards with artist, Dean Beattie. Biography Eben Burgoon was raised in San Luis Obispo county and attended San Luis Obispo High School, which was lightly lampooned in his comic work with Eben 07. He attended college at California State University, Chico. He studied international relations and minored in creative writing. He currently lives in Sacramento, California. Eben Norton Horsford (27 July 1818 – 1 January 1893) was an American scientist who taught agricultural chemistry in the Lawrence Scientific School at Harvard from 1847 to 1863. Later he was known for his reformulation of baking powder, his interest in Viking settlements in North America, and the monuments he built to Leif Erikson. Eben Smith (December 17, 1832 – November 5, 1906) was a successful mine owner, smelting company executive, railroad executive and bank owner in Colorado in the late 19th century and early 20th century. Early life Eben Smith was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, the son of William and Mary (Nelson) Smith, descendants of English and Scottish immigrants who emigrated to Erie County, Pennsylvania, in the latter part of the 17th century. His book '' Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon's Journey into the Afterlife'' (2012) describes his near-death experience that happened in 2008 under medically-induced coma when treated for meningitis. Ebenezer Thomas
Ebenezer Thomas (August 1802 – 17 February 1863), better known to Welsh speakers by his bardic name of Eben Fardd, was a Welsh teacher and poet. Eben Fardd was born in Llanarmon, Caernarvonshire, the son of a weaver, and educated at local schools. His elder brother, William, was a schoolmaster, and when William died, Eben Fardd took over his school at Llangybi. He won a prize for his poetry at the 1824 eisteddfod in Welshpool. He moved to Clynnog Fawr in 1827, where he lived opposite the church of St Beuno in a house now called Bod Cybi, and is buried in the churchyard. Eben Alexander Jr (1913–2004) was an American academic neurosurgeon and a native of Knoxville, Tennessee. He is known for his notable education and training of neurosurgeons, his many recognition awards, and for his editorship of Surgical Neurology — An International Journal of Neurosurgery and Neuroscience from 1987 to 1994.
