The Town of Eaton is a Statutory Town located in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The town population was 5,802 at the 2020 United States Census, a +32.92% increase since the 2010 United States Census. Eaton is a part of the Greeley, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Front Range Urban Corridor. History The town is named after Benjamin Harrison Eaton, a pioneer of irrigation who played a leading role in transforming the arid prairie of the Great Plains east of Colorado's Front Range into a thriving agricultural region with water brought from the nearby Rocky Mountains in the late 19th century. Much of the farming country around Eaton, Colorado continues to depend on the irrigation systems engineered by Eaton and others to this day. Eaton later served as Governor of Colorado from 1885 to 1887. The town of Eaton was incorporated in 1892. Austin Ekeler
Austin Ekeler ( ; born May 17, 1995) is an American football running back for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Western Colorado Mountaineers and signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2017. Early years Ekeler attended Eaton High School in Eaton, Colorado, where he played high school football for The Fightin' Reds. He was a four-year letterer and starter for the Fightin' Reds; despite being only 5'5 as a freshman, Ekeler rushed for 454 yards and 8 touchdowns on 70 carries. By the end of his career, Ekeler amassed 5,232 rushing yards and 71 touchdowns (39 of which came from his senior year alone) on 561 carries, averaging 9.15 yards-per-carry, with another 581 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Trent Sieg (born May 19, 1995) is an American professional football long snapper for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Colorado State. Early years Sieg attended Eaton High School. As a senior, he contributed to the team achieving a Patriot League championship with a 10–1 overall record. He registered 29 receptions, 510 receiving yards, 4 touchdowns as a tight end and 67 tackles, 10 sacks as a linebacker. Mitch Unrein (born March 25, 1987) is a former American football defensive tackle. He was signed by the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2010. He played college football at Wyoming.
