Eastwoodiella
''Eastwoodiella californica'' is a species of flowering plant in the bellflower family Campanulaceae, known by the common names swamp bellflower and swamp harebell. It is the sole species in genus ''Eastwoodiella''. This is a hairy rhizome, rhizomatous perennial herb producing a thin, creeping stem 10 to 30 centimeters long. The thin, rippled leaves are oval in shape and between 1 and 2 centimeters long. The bell-shaped flower is pale blue with curving petals up to 1.5 centimeters long. The fruit is a ribbed, spherical capsule. It is Endemism, endemic to California, where it grows along the coastline between Marin County, California, Marin and Mendocino County, California, Mendocino Counties. It is found mainly in wet areas such as bogs, marshes, and wet forest floors. Albert Kellogg first described the species in 1863 as ''Wahlenbergia californica''. Albert Kellogg
Albert Kellogg (December 6, 1813 – March 31, 1887 ) was an American physician and the first resident botanist of California. He was a founding member of the California Academy of Sciences and served as its first curator of botany. Kellogg was a prolific writer and an accomplished illustrator of botanical specimens. Alice Eastwood
__NOTOC__ Alice Eastwood (January 19, 1859 – October 30, 1953) was a Canadian American botanist. She is credited with building the botanical collection at the California Academy of Sciences, in San Francisco. She published over 310 scientific articles and authored 395 land plant species names, the fourth-highest number of such names authored by any female scientist. Amos Arthur Heller (March 21, 1867 – May 19, 1944) was an American botanist. Early life Heller was born in Danville, Pennsylvania, Danville, Pennsylvania.
