Eastman Color
Eastmancolor is a trade name used by Eastman Kodak for a number of related film and processing technologies associated with color motion picture production and referring to George Eastman, founder of Kodak. Eastmancolor, introduced in 1950, was one of the first widely successful "single-strip colour" processes, and eventually displaced the more cumbersome Technicolor. Eastmancolor was known by a variety of names such as DeLuxe Color, Warnercolor, Metrocolor, Pathécolor, Columbiacolor, and others. ''The Bolshoi Ballet'' is a 1957 British musical film directed by Paul Czinner and starring Galina Ulanova, Raisa Struchkova, and Nikolai Fadeyechev. The film's composers, Yuri Fayer and Gennady Rozhdestvensky, were nominated for Best Original Score in the 31st Academy Awards (1958). The film captures the 1956 performances of The Bolshoi Ballet in the United Kingdom at Davis Theatre, Croydon and at Covent Garden, performing ''divertissement'' and ''Giselle''. ''Amarashilpi Jakanachari'' is a 1964 Indian Kannada-language film, directed and produced by B. S. Ranga. It stars Kalyan Kumar in the eponymous role of Amarashilpi Jakanachari, a sculptor who lived in the 12th-century Hoysala Empire. It also features B. Saroja Devi, Udaykumar and V. Nagayya. The film score and soundtrack were composed by S. Rajeswara Rao. The film was the first Kannada feature film fully shot in color. ''Padagotti'' () is a 1964 Indian Tamil-language social problem film directed by T. Prakash Rao and produced by G. N. Velumani. The film stars M. G. Ramachandran and B. Saroja Devi, with M. N. Nambiar, S. V. Ramadas, Nagesh, Manorama and Jayanthi in supporting roles. It deals with the enmity between two fishing communities in a village, which is fuelled by the village's ''zamindar'', who stands to gain the most from it all. ''Karnan'' () is a 1964 Indian Tamil-language Hindu mythological film produced and directed by B. R. Panthulu. It stars Sivaji Ganesan leading an ensemble cast consisting of N. T. Rama Rao, S. A. ''Amarasilpi Jakkanna'' is a 1964 Telugu-language biographical film, produced and directed by B. S. Ranga under the Vikram Studios banner. ''Mere Mehboob'' ("My Lover") is a 1963 Indian film directed by Harnam Singh Rawail and starring Ashok Kumar, Rajendra Kumar, Sadhana, Nimmi, Pran, Johnny Walker and Ameeta. ''The Human Pyramid'' (french: La Pyramide humaine) is a 1961 Ivorian docufiction film directed by Jean Rouch. Rouch forced black African and white French students to improvise interactions with each other at an integrated high school in Abidjan. Plot Rouch took the title of his film from a poem by the Surrealist Paul Eluard. In Abidjan in newly-independent Ivory Coast, the film sees a mixed-race lycée class in which the filmmaker asks why white and black students do not mix together socially after class. They are interviewed separately and together, and are shown in their home environments and meeting together socially. They also improvise scenes of fantasized events.
