East Rockaway School District
East Rockaway School District is a school district headquartered in East Rockaway, New York. The district was established in 1924. The district is the smallest in Nassau County. In 1992 it had 1,150 students. At one time the East Rockaway School District proposed paying the Lynbrook Public Schools to have East Rockaway students in grades 7 through 12 attend public schools in Lynbrook; the Lynbrook district rejected the offer. In 1992 Robert Parry, the superintendent of the East Rockaway district, stated that it was still interested in consolidating with another district. East Rockaway, New York
East Rockaway is a village in Nassau County, on the South Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 9,818 at the 2010 census. The Incorporated Village of East Rockaway is at the edge of Rockaway Peninsula Proper in the town of Hempstead, adjacent to Hewlett Harbor, Hewlett, Rockville Centre, Lynbrook, and Oceanside. It is the final neighborhood before the beginning of Five Towns, although some have come to include wealthier sections of East Rockaway as a part of Five Towns. East Rockaway is an inner suburb, only 24 km (15 mi) from downtown Manhattan. The primary ethnicities are Italian and Irish. East Rockaway High School
East Rockaway Junior-Senior High School (often abbreviated ERHS) is a co-educational six-year secondary school in East Rockaway, New York, and the sole high school in Nassau County, New York, School District 41 (East Rockaway School District), the smallest school district in Nassau County. It is currently undergoing renovations to expand the school into a middle school and high school, becoming a seven-year secondary school. East Rockaway High School serves graduates from local Centre Ave. and Rhame Ave. Elementary Schools, as well as the private St. Raymond Elementary School. As of the 2014-15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 554 students and 55.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.0:1. FiOS 1
FiOS1 was a news-based pay television network that was carried by Verizon Fios in the New York metropolitan area. Launched on June 22, 2009 in Long Island and New Jersey and later on May 28, 2014 in the Lower Hudson Valley, FiOS1 provided hyper-local news, weather, traffic, sports and also original programming. FiOS1 was only available in Northern New Jersey, Long Island, and Lower Hudson Valley. The networks focused on content produced by RNN, which produced the network's newscasts.
