East Kilbride YM FC
East Kilbride YM Football Club (also known as The YM) are the oldest and most successful club based in East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire. The club currently have four adult teams competing in the Caledonian, Greater Glasgow Leagues and Central Scottish Over 35s as well as a Saturday Morning Team playing in the Saturday Morning Amateur Football Association. 'The YM' is part of the EK United Community Club alongside East Kilbride YC and East Kilbride Girls. The club also host the most popular Player of the Year and Speakers night in the East Kilbride area and an annual Invitational Tournament. History Formation and early years East Kilbride YM were formed in 1921 with one of the earliest Team Managers being John Cadzow. East Kilbride
East Kilbride (; gd, Cille Bhrìghde an Ear ) is the largest town in South Lanarkshire in Scotland and the country's sixth-largest locality by population. It was also designated Scotland's first new town on 6 May 1947. The area lies on a raised plateau to the south of the Cathkin Braes, about southeast of Glasgow and close to the boundary with East Renfrewshire. The town ends close to the White Cart Water to the west and is bounded by the Rotten Calder Water to the east. Caledonian Amateur Football League
The Caledonian Amateur Football League is a football (soccer) league competition for amateur clubs in Scotland. It was formed in 1983 by inviting what were deemed to be top amateur clubs from across central Scotland with good facilities with high standards being set for admittance to the league Since its formation, the teams competing within the league have been of a good standard, with clubs from the league winning the Scottish Amateur Cup on nine occasions, also providing four losing finalists. Member clubs are concentrated in the Central Belt of Scotland, although there is a club from the Isle of Bute, and a number of clubs from Stirlingshire. Like several other amateur leagues, it is a stand-alone association and is not currently part of Scotland's pyramid system. Andrew Francis Walker (born 6 April 1965 in Glasgow) is a Scottish former footballer, who played as a striker for several clubs in Scotland and England, including Motherwell, Celtic, Bolton Wanderers, Sheffield United, and Ayr United. He also made three full international appearances for Scotland. Since retiring as a player, Walker has become a television pundit. Playing career Walker started his professional career with Motherwell in 1984, helping the club to gain promotion before moving to Celtic in the summer of 1987 for a fee of £350,000. His first season at Celtic Park was hugely successful, as ''the Bhoys'' won the double in 1987–88, their centenary season, and Walker himself earned a first Scotland cap against Colombia. Bolton (, locally ) is a large town in Greater Manchester in North West England, formerly a part of Lancashire. Scott Chaplain
Scott Chaplain (born 10 September 1983, in Bellshill) is a Scottish retired professional footballer. He last played for Albion Rovers in their 2014–15 Scottish League Two winning season. Chaplain began his career in the Rangers youth set-up before moving on to Ayr United in 2000. He made 91 starts and scored 11 goals in his 5 seasons at the club before being released and signing for Albion Rovers. In the 2006–07 season he scored 18 league goals and won the SPFA's player of the year award for the Third Division. At the end of the season, he was signed on a full-time contract by Partick Thistle manager Ian McCall. After leaving Partick Thistle in the summer of 2009, Chaplain was signed by Dumbarton. He rejoined Albion Rovers in January 2011, helping them win promotion to the Second Division.
