North Fork Pacheco Creek is a tributary stream of Pacheco Creek, in Santa Clara County, California. Originally it was considered the upper reach of Pacheco Creek. Its source is at an elevation of at on a mountain side in Henry W. Coe State Park and is the headwaters of the Pajaro River watershed. History In 1993, archeologist Mark Hylkema documented eight different Native American sites on the Andresen Ranch along the lower North Fork Pacheco Creek, dating from 1000 B.C. to 500 A.D. These included multiple human burials, both adult and juvenile. He concluded that the interior of the Diablo Range north of Pacheco Pass was extensively occupied. Although Central Valley Yokuts may have utilized this area, archeologist E. Breck Parkman, who studied sites along upper North Fork Pacheco Creek, summarized evidence that the primary occupants were Ohlone, of the Tomoi, Locobo, and Cobo Ohlone peoples. The Diablo Range is a mountain range in the California Coast Ranges subdivision of the Pacific Coast Ranges in northern California, United States. It stretches from the eastern San Francisco Bay area at its northern end to the Salinas Valley area at its southern end. Fifield Ranch is a locale within the Diablo Range in Santa Clara County, California. It lies at an elevation of , west of the head of Romero Creek and the Santa Clara County line, about a mile north of Hagerman Peak. It is at the source of a tributary canyon and stream to Chimney Gulch, itself a tributary of East Fork Pacheco Creek. History Before the ranch existed, in the early 1850s, this location on a rolling plateau of grassland and oak groves was called Estación Romero and was a major station for the gang of Joaquin Murrieta along La Vereda del Monte, that followed what is now the course of County Line Road from San Antonio Valley to where the ranch is located today.
