''Ear-Resistible'' is the 57th studio album by American vocal group the Temptations. It was released by Motown on May 16, 2000. Featuring the Top 20 Urban Adult Contemporary singles "I'm Here", which peaked at #3, and "Selfish Reasons", which peaked at #18, the album won the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Traditional R&B Performance. The Temptations are an American vocal group from Detroit, Michigan, who released a series of successful singles and albums with Motown Records during the 1960s and 1970s. The Grammy Award for Best Traditional R&B Performance is an accolade presented at the Grammy Awards, a ceremony that was established in 1958 and originally named the Gramophone Awards, to performers of quality traditional R&B vocal performances. The award was first given in 1999; until 2003, only albums were nominated, now just singles or tracks are. Honors in several categories are presented at the ceremony annually by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States to "honor artistic achievement, technical proficiency and overall excellence in the recording industry, without regard to album sales or chart position." Awesome (The Temptations Album)
''Awesome'' is a 2001 album by the Tempations. Despite many changes in personnel, the album became the 45th to reach the ''Billboard'' 200, the first being ''Meet the Temptations'' in 1964. The lone single "4 Days" peaked at #19 on the Urban Adult Contemporary Charts. It is the last album to featured Barrington “Bo” Henderson and Harry McGilberry before they were fired from the group in 2003. Reception According to Jason Birchmeier of AllMusic, ''Awesome'' contains "mostly ballads here and some innocent concessions to the hip-hop audience." Katrina C. Willis (born October 2, 1971) is a singer/songwriter, musician and producer. She was one of four co-writers of Aretha Franklin's Grammy Award-winning single "Wonderful". and Luther Vandross's "Say It Now". Harry McGilberry
Harry McGilberry (January 19, 1950 – April 3, 2006) was an American Rhythm and blues, R&B and soul music, soul singer and latter-day Bass guitar, bass singer for The Temptations between 1995 and 2003. Born Harry McGilberry Jr. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, McGilberry was a member of the R&B group The Futures and later the Temptations, replacing ailing bassist and former P-Funk member Ray Davis (musician), Ray Davis to join the quintet in 1995 and recorded the albums ''Phoenix Rising (Temptations album), Phoenix Rising'', ''Ear-Resistible'' and ''Awesome'' with them. McGilberry was fired from the group in 2003 by Temptations leader Otis Williams for a reported drug habit (he was replaced by Joe Herndon of The Spaniels). He later joined a Temptations splinter group, 'The Temptations Experience', replacing the then recently departed Ray Davis. ''Phoenix Rising'' is a 1998 studio album by American vocal group The Temptations. It was released on the Motown label on August 18, 1998. Featuring the debut of new Temptations members Barrington "Bo" Henderson, Terry Weeks, and Harry McGilberry, following the departure of Ali-Ollie Woodson, who ended his tenure with the group (following the release of the 1995 album '' For Lovers Only''); as well as the final Temptations album for Theo Peoples, who Henderson replaced. Trevor Lawrence (musician)
Trevor Lawrence is an American saxophonist (baritone and tenor saxes), composer, arranger and record producer. As a session musician, Lawrence has performed both as a studio musician and as a touring musician in the horn sections for groups including the Rolling Stones with Steve Madaio and Bobby Keys and with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band along with Madaio, David Sanborn and Gene Dinwiddie that performed at the Woodstock music festival in 1969.
