''Eanippadikal'' () is a 1973 Indian Malayalam-language film, directed by Thoppil Bhasi. The film stars Madhu, Sharada, Jayabharathi and Kaviyoor Ponnamma in the lead roles. It is based on the novel of the same name by Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai. Compositions by Travancore king Swathi Thirunal were also used in the film. Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai
Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai (17 April 1912 – 10 April 1999), popularly known as Thakazhi after his place of birth, was an Indian novelist and short story writer of Malayalam literature. He wrote over 30 novels and novellas and over 7 short stories focusing on the lives of the oppressed classes. Known for his works such as ''Kayar'' (Coir, 1978) and ''Chemmeen'' (Prawns, 1956), Pillai was a recipient of the Padma Bhushan, the third highest Indian civilian award. He was also a recipient of the Jnanpith, India's highest literary award, awarded in 1984 for the novel ''Kayar''. Thoppil Bhaskara Pillai, known as Thoppil Bhasi (8 April 1924 – 8 December 1992) was an Indian Malayalam-language playwright, screenwriter, and film director. He was associated with the communist movement in Kerala and his play '' Ningalenne Communistakki'' (''You Made Me a Communist'') is considered to be a groundbreaking event in the history of Malayalam theatre. Jameela Malik
Jameela Malik (1945/1946 – 28 January 2020) was an Indian actress in south Indian movies. She acted in Malayalam and Tamil films in the 1970s and 1980s. She received critical acclaim and appreciation, for all the movies she acted, from the critics and audience as well. She entered the film industry with the film ''Aadhyathe Katha'' in 1972. She was the first woman from Kerala to graduate from the Film and Television Institute of India. She worked as teacher in schools. She was married for a year and had a son. She had also acted in more than twenty television serials during the 1990s. She died on 28 January 2020 at the age of 74. Anandavally C. R. (14 January 1952 5 April 2019) was an Indian actress and dubbing artist, who predominantly worked in the Malayalam film industry. Early life Anandavally was born into an agricultural family at Veliyam, State of Travancore-Cochin to Tamilian parents. She did her schooling in "Kaiyela School" - Veliyam, where she began acting in school plays and later started Kadhaprasangam (story-telling performance). Career Drama artist Anandavally used to sing for dramas even while a teenager. Jayadeva
Jayadeva (; born ), also spelt Jaideva, was a Sanskrit poet during the 12th century. He is most known for his epic poem ''Gita Govinda'' which concentrates on Krishna's love with the '' gopi'', Radha, in a rite of spring. This poem, which presents the view that Radha is greater than Krishna, is considered an important text in the Bhakti movement of Hinduism. Little is known of his life, except that he was a loner poet and a Hindu mendicant celebrated for his poetic genius in eastern India. Jayadeva is the earliest dated author of hymns that are included the Guru Granth Sahib, the primary scripture of Sikhism – a religion founded in the Indian subcontinent centuries after his death. Neyyattinkara Vasudevan
Neyyattinkara Vasudevan (1940–13 May 2008) was a Carnatic music vocalist from Kerala in south India. The Padmasree-winning Carnatic vocalist and disciple of Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer and Ramnad Krishnan, he combined tradition and innovation in his widely acclaimed career. Vasudevan is famous as being one of the first from the Dalit community to excel in the field which was previously the preserve of the upper castes. Biography Vasudevan born to a Dalit family, in a village near Neyyattinkara in southern Travancore. He did his formal music studies from the Swati Tirunal Music College, Thiruvananthapuram, chiefly under Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer. He also did advanced studies under Ramnad Krishnan. Iravivarman Thampi, better known as Irayimman Thampi (1782 October 12 - 1856 July 29), was an Indian Carnatic musician, music composer and poet from the Kingdom of Travancore. Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair
N. Sreedharan Nair (11 September 1922 – 19 October 1986), popularly known as Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair or just Kottarakkara, was an Indian actor who appeared Malayalam movies. He hailed from Kottarakkara in Kollam district of Kerala. Sreedharan Nair won two Kerala state film awards. In 1970, he won the best actor award and in 1969 the second best actor award.
