Ealing Hospital
Ealing Hospital is a district general NHS hospital, part of London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, located in the Southall district of the London Borough of Ealing, West London, England. It lies on the south side of the Uxbridge Road 8.5 miles west of central London. It sits between Southall town centre to the west and Hanwell to the east. It is built on land that was once part of St. Bernard's Hospital which is run by West London Mental Health (NHS) Trust. The Ealing Hospital Interchange bus station is adjacent to the hospital. History Early history The original hospital in the area was the Ealing Cottage Hospital which opened at Minton Lodge in Ealing Dene in 1871. London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is an NHS trust based in London, United Kingdom. The trust was formed by the merger of North West London Hospitals NHS Trust and Ealing Hospital NHS Trusts in October 2014. North West London Hospitals NHS Trust was an NHS trust that ran Northwick Park Hospital and St Mark's Hospital in Harrow and Central Middlesex Hospital, Park Royal, London, England. In May 2013 Moorfields Hospital opened satellite Eye Centreat Northwick Park meaning that patients could access their specialist services without having to travel to Moorfields. Perivale () is an area of Greater London, west of Charing Cross. It is the smallest of the seven towns which make up the London Borough of Ealing. Perivale is mostly residential, with a library, community centre, a number of parks and open spaces, as well as a large industrial estate. Central Middlesex Hospital is in the centre of the Park Royal business estate, on the border of two London boroughs, Brent and Ealing. It is managed by the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. History The hospital was established as an infirmary for sick paupers at the Willesden Workhouse in 1903. Extensions were built in 1908, 1911 and 1914. The facility became the Willesden Institution in 1914, the Park Royal Hospital in 1921 and the Central Middlesex County Hospital in 1931.
