Escuela de Iniciación San Martín ( English: ''School of Initiation San Martín'') is a Spanish football club based in Sotrondio, San Martín del Rey Aurelio in the autonomous community of Asturias. Founded in 2012, San Martín plays in , holding its home games at ''Estadio El Florán''. History Following the dissolution of '' Club Deportivo San Martín''(founded 1950) because of financial trouble, former members of the club decided to create a new team with the name of Escuela de Iniciación San Martín in July 2012. The club finished their first season in the lowest division without loss. After three promotions in five years, the club was promoted in May 2017 to the Tercera División. Sotrondio
Sotrondio is a town in San Martín del Rey Aurelio, Asturias, Spain. In September 2007, by a decree of the Principality of Asturias, it joined the adjacent El Entrego and Blimea to form a single population center, San Martin del Rey, as a homonymous municipality. It is from Oviedo. The population was 3,849 in 2009, fewer residents than in previous years, declining due to the crisis of industrial restructuring in the Asturian coalfield. It is crossed by the Nalón River separating the Serallo neighborhood from the rest of the town. Aurelius of Asturias is believed to be buried at Iglesia de San Martín de Tours, which is near Sotrondio. Tercera Federación, previously known as Tercera RFEF, is the fifth tier of the Spanish football league system. It is below the ''La Liga'', ''Segunda División'', and its fellow semi-professional divisions '' Primera Federación'' and ''Segunda Federación''. The 2024–25 Tercera Federación season is the fourth for the Tercera Federación, the national fifth level in the Spanish football league system. 2020–21 Tercera División
The 2020–21 Tercera División was the last for this league as the fourth tier of Spanish football. It began in October 2020 and ended in June 2021 with the second phase and promotion play-off final in the Canarian group. Because the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) suspended the previous season on 11 March 2020 at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain, the RFEF announced on 6 May the termination of that season, the revocation of all relegations from the Segunda B and Tercera divisions, and the expansion of both leagues. Each regional federation was allowed to plan its own group for the 2020–21 season and as this season became somewhat shorter than usual, the RFEF recommended the subdivision of each region into two groups in the first phase for ease of scheduling, with a final phase in which the teams regrouped based on initial positions.
