EFL Golden Glove
The EFL Golden Glove, formerly Football League Golden Glove, is an annual association football award, given to the goalkeeper who has kept the most clean sheets in each of the three EFL divisions. Originally, clean sheets in the league (Championship, League One and League Two), EFL Cup, EFL Trophy and FA Cup all counted towards the Golden Glove but, since 2018, only non-playoff league fixtures qualify. The award was first given after the 2006–07 season, with sponsorship from Puma. Macron, the official kits and ball supplier of the Football League, later sponsored the award. In the 2010–11 season no Golden Glove award was given. The 2011–12 season saw the introduction of a monthly award in addition to an annual award under new sponsors Precision Training. The 2006–07 Football League Championship (known as the Coca-Cola Championship for sponsorship reasons) was the third season of the league under its current title and fifteenth season under its current league division format. The Football League is contested through three Divisions. The top divisions of these is the League Championship. The winner and the runner up of the League Championship will be automatically promoted to the Premiership and they will be joined by the winner of the League Championship playoff. The bottom three teams in the Championship will be relegated to the second division, League One. It began in August 2007 and concluded in May 2008, with the promotion play-off finals. The Football League is contested through three Divisions. The second division of these is Football League One, League One. The winner and the runner up of League One will be automatically promoted to the Football League Championship and they will be joined by the winner of the League One playoff. The bottom four teams in the league will be relegated to the third division, Football League Two, League Two. Dean Laurence Kiely (born 10 October 1970) is a former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He is the goalkeeping coach at Premier League club Crystal Palace and the Republic of Ireland national team. Born in England, he won eleven caps for the Republic of Ireland as a player. Kiely has previously worked as the goalkeeping coach at West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City. Club career Born in Salford, Lancashire, Kiely trained with the West Bromwich Albion youth system as a schoolboy before being accepted into the FA School of Excellence at Lilleshall. After Albion he progressed through the Coventry City youth system as a trainee before signing a professional contract on 30 October 1987. Steven John Phillips (born 6 May 1978 in Bath, Somerset) is an English football goalkeeper, who was most recently goalkeeping coach at Yeovil Town. Career The West Country goalkeeper began his career playing for Coleford Athletic under 13s, he then moved into Non-League football with Paulton Rovers and then earned a big move to Bristol City where he went on to play 250 league appearances for the Ashton Gate outfit. Joseph Murphy (born 21 August 1981) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Tranmere Rovers.
