EFDA Nations Cup
The EFDA Nations Cup was a Formula Opel competition which was held between 1990 and 1998. The competition pitted international drivers against each other in similar cars, with drivers representing their nations. It was founded by Dan Partel within the Formula Opel/Vauxhall racing series. The first Nations Cup race was held at the historic Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium on 19–20 July 1990, and organised by the European Formula Drivers Association (EFDA). History In 1990, drivers representing 25 countries were already participating in the various Formula Vauxhall/Opel Lotus Series. The Nations Cup format called for two-car national teams. The Formula Vauxhall/Opel Lotus racing series was the only series that could muster twenty legitimate two-car national teams from its active list of competitors. Auto racing (also known as car racing, motor racing, or automobile racing) is a motorsport involving the racing of automobiles for competition. Giovanni Anapoli
Giovanni Anapoli (born 23 August 1974 in Montecchio Precalcino) is an Italian race car driver. He began his career in 1994, driving in Italian Formula Europa Boxer, where he would race until 1995 when he moved to Formula Opel Euroseries. He has since driven in the Barber Dodge Pro Series, Formula Nissan 2000, Porsche Supercup and both European and American Le Mans Series. He won the 1997 Formula Opel Nations Cup and competed in British Formula Three. He has not participated in any major professional auto races since 2002. He has one child, Fretta, who is thinking of pursuing race car driving to follow in her fathers footsteps. Giovanni Montanari
Giovanni Montanari (born 24 April 1976) is an Italian former racing driver. Career Montanari began racing in Formula Opel between 1996 and 1997, representing Italy in the Nations Cup and winning in 1997 with Giovanni Anapoli. In the 1997 championship, he completed 13 races, winning 1 and securing 5 podium finishes. His points total, 103, meant he finished the season in 4th place. In 1998, Montanari graduated to International Formula 3000 where he drove for Draco Engineering. His best result came in Barcelona, where he qualified 7th and finished 8th. In 1999, he joined GP Racing but failed to qualify for either race he entered. Later in the season, he entered two races with Durango Racing, once again failing to qualify on both occasions. In 2000, Montanari stepped into Italian F3000 with previous employer Durango Formula. Pierre Kaffer
Pierre Kaffer (born 7 November 1976 in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, Rhineland-Palatinate) is a race car driver from Germany, currently living in Switzerland. Career In 1990, Kaffer started in Karting, moving in 1994 to Formula Ford, later Formula Opel and then from 1997 to 2001 in the German Formula 3 Championship. His biggest success was in 2004, winning the 12 Hours of Sebring in an Audi R8. For 2005 and 2006 he competed for Audi Sport Team Joest in the DTM series. In 2009 Kaffer piloted a Ferrari F430GT for Risi Competizione in the American Le Mans Series. For 2012, Kaffer competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship and European Le Mans Series in a Pecom Racing Oreca 03-Nissan. Donington Park
Donington Park is a motorsport circuit located near Castle Donington in Leicestershire, England. The circuit business is now owned by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation, and the surrounding Donington Park Estate, still owned by the Wheatcroft family, is currently under lease by MotorSport Vision until 2038. It has a capacity of 120,000, and is also the venue of the Download Festival. Originally part of the Donington Hall estate, it was created as a racing circuit during the period between the First and Second World Wars when the German Silver Arrows were battling for the European Championship. Used as a military vehicle storage depot during the Second World War, it fell into disrepair until bought by local construction entrepreneur Tom Wheatcroft. Circuit De Nevers Magny-Cours
Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours is a motor racing circuit located in central France, near the towns of Magny-Cours and Nevers, some from Paris and from Lyon. It staged the Formula One French Grand Prix from 1991 (succeeding Circuit Paul Ricard) to 2008, and the 24-hour Bol d'Or motorcycle endurance events from 2000 to 2014 (succeeded by Circuit Paul Ricard).
