ECW CyberSlam
CyberSlam was a professional wrestling supercard event and fan convention produced by Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) from 1996 to 2000. Background It began in 1995 with the Double Tables event, held at the ECW Arena. The event was held for those who were posting on Usenet's rec.sport.pro-wrestling to be able to meet performers in person and see some live pro wrestling. ECW's Tod Gordon assisted the ECW fans in organizing this. Prior to the ECW Arena show on February 4, 1995, there was a show held at the Flagstaff in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. The red shirts seen on some wrestlers and fans say "To The Extreme" and was the nickname given to the event. In addition to the two shows, there was also a question-and-answer session held at the ECW Arena itself. The main guests were Tod Gordon, the Sandman and The Public Enemy. Extreme Championship Wrestling
HHG Corporation, doing business as Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), was a professional wrestling promotion and media company that was based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The promotion was founded in 1992 by Tod Gordon as National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) affiliate Eastern Championship Wrestling. The following year, businessman and wrestling promoter Paul Heyman took over the creative end of the promotion from Eddie Gilbert and rechristened the promotion as Extreme Championship Wrestling. The promotion was known for highlighting a "hardcore wrestling" style, with matches regularly featuring weapons (including the frequent use of tables and fire) and revolving around adult-themed storylines. CyberSlam (1998) was the third CyberSlam professional wrestling event produced by Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). The event took place on February 21, 1998 at the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Nine professional wrestling matches took place at the event. The main event was a tag team match, in which The Triple Threat's Shane Douglas and Bam Bam Bigelow defeated the team of Rob Van Dam and Sabu. On the undercard, The Hardcore Chair Swingin' Freaks (Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney) and The Sandman took on the teams of Spike Dudley and The Gangstanators ( Kronus and New Jack) and The Dudleys (Big Dick Dudley, Buh Buh Ray Dudley, and D-Von Dudley) in a Three-Way Dance, Justin Credible took on Tommy Dreamer in a First Blood match and Taz defended the World Television Championship against Brakkus. Christopher Barrett Candito (March 21, 1972 – April 28, 2005) was an American professional wrestler. Candito is best remembered for his tenures with promotions such as World Championship Wrestling, Extreme Championship Wrestling, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and Smoky Mountain Wrestling, where he performed under the ring name Chris Candido, as well as for his appearances in the World Wrestling Federation under the ring name Skip, one-half of the tag team The Bodydonnas. The ECW World Tag Team Championship was a professional wrestling world tag team championship in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). Rob Van Dam and Sabu are a professional wrestling tag team who often compete in Extreme Championship Wrestling and WWE's ECW brand. George B. Caiazzo (January 13, 1969 – July 18, 2007) was an American professional wrestler, better known by his ring name, John Kronus, and later simply Kronus. The Eliminators were a professional wrestling tag team that consisted of Perry Saturn and John Kronus who were best known for their time in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) between 1995 and 1997. History Formation While working as the manager of a nightclub in Boston, Perry Satullo met bouncer George Caiazzo, who expressed an interest in becoming a wrestler.
