ECTF
ECTF (the Enterprise Computer Telephony Forum) was formed in 1995 by telephony equipment and software suppliers to improve the interoperability of various vendors’ CT solutions. Until ECTF was formed, the computer telephony industry was an alphabet soup of competing software and hardware platforms. ECTF has sought to improve this situation, and to enhance the “scalability” of CT standards so that telephony systems serving the needs of small businesses as well as large, multinational corporations can be built using the same technology.Michael Thomas Bayer, "Computer telephony demystified: putting CTI, media services, and IP", McGraw-Hill Professional, 2001, It consists of many working groups on different areas (e.g. Speech Recognition, etc.). Standards * H.100 — a standard published by the CompTIA ECTF for communication between PCI PCI may refer to: Business and economics * Payment card industry, businesses associated with debit, credit, and other payment cards ** Pa ...

Computer Telephony
Computer telephony integration, also called computer–telephone integration or CTI, is a common name for any technology that allows interactions on a telephone and a computer to be coordinated. The term is predominantly used to describe desktop-based interaction for helping users be more efficient, though it can also refer to server-based functionality such as automatic call routing. Common functions By application type CTI applications tend to run on either a user's desktop, or an unattended server. ;Common desktop functions provided by CTI applications * Screen popping - Call information display (caller's number (ANI), number dialed (DNIS), and Screen pop on answer, with or without using calling line data. Generally this is used to search a business application for the caller's details. *Dialing - Automatic dialing and computer-controlled dialing (power dial, preview dial, and predictive dial). *Phone control - Includes call control (answer, hang up, hold, conference, etc.) ...

CompTIA
The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) is an American non-profit trade association that issues professional certifications for the information technology (IT) industry. It is considered one of the IT industry's top trade associations. Based in Downers Grove, Illinois, CompTIA issues vendor-neutral professional certifications in over 120 countries. The organization releases over 50 industry studies annually to track industry trends and changes. Over 2.2 million people have earned CompTIA certifications since the association was established. History CompTIA was created in 1982 as the Association of Better Computer Dealers (ABCD). ABCD later changed its name to the Computing Technology Industry Association. In 2010, CompTIA moved into its world headquarters in Downers Grove, Illinois. The building was designed to meet LEED CI Certification standards. The CompTIA portal moved to a hybrid version of the open-access model in April 2014 with exclusive content for du ...

Conventional PCI
Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) is a local computer bus for attaching hardware devices in a computer and is part of the PCI Local Bus standard. The PCI bus supports the functions found on a processor bus but in a standardized format that is independent of any given processor's native bus. Devices connected to the PCI bus appear to a bus master to be connected directly to its own bus and are assigned addresses in the processor's address space. It is a parallel bus, synchronous to a single bus clock. Attached devices can take either the form of an integrated circuit fitted onto the motherboard (called a ''planar device'' in the PCI specification) or an expansion card that fits into a slot. The PCI Local Bus was first implemented in IBM PC compatibles, where it displaced the combination of several slow Industry Standard Architecture (ISA) slots and one fast VESA Local Bus (VLB) slot as the bus configuration. It has subsequently been adopted for other computer types. Typica ...
