''EBK4'' is the third studio album by American rapper Brotha Lynch Hung, released through Blackmarket Records on June 27, 2000, as a follow-up to 1997's '' Loaded''. Some of the songs on the album were not completed (did not have all the verses recorded, etc.) in time for the release date. Due to disputes with the record label over this and other issues, Black Market released the album without the consent of Brotha Lynch Hung, featuring other artists off the label to complete unfinished songs where extra verses were needed. Lynch has mentioned that prior to the album’s release, a home invasion took place during which the thieves had taken songs still in progress, most of which appear on this album. Kevin Danell Mann (born January 10, 1970), better known by his stage name Brotha Lynch Hung, is an American rapper, songwriter and record producer from Sacramento, California who has been described as "the creator of horrorcore rap." He is also a former 24th Street Garden Blocc Crip gang member which is a Crip affiliated street gang based in Meadowview, Sacramento. Early life Mann grew up in Sacramento. He became a fan of east coast rappers such as Rakim and Slick Rick. He started rapping at the age of 13. He became a member of the 24 Street Garden Blocc Crips by age 16 during the 1980s. He was once shot in the side after trying to break up a confrontation between a Crip and a Blood at a house party; the bullet was never removed. Horrorcore
Horrorcore, also called horror hip hop, horror rap, death hip hop, or death rap, is a subgenre of hip hop music based on horror-themed and often darkly transgressive lyrical content and imagery. Anerae Veshaughn Brown (born July 30, 1974), better known by his stage name X-Raided, is an American rapper from Sacramento, California, United States. In 1992, Brown was sentenced to 31 years in prison on murder charges, which Brown denied, maintaining his innocence. The lyrics of his debut album, '' Psycho Active'', was submitted as evidence by the prosecutors. Subsequently, Brown continued to record rap songs in prison, until being released on parole 26 years into his sentence. He was later signed with Strange Music. ''Psycho Active'' is the debut solo album by American rapper X-Raided, released April 16, 1992 through Blackmarket Records. Before the album's release, X-Raided and four other individuals, all Crips, were arrested by the Sacramento Police Department for the killing of Patricia Harris, the mother of two Meadowview, Sacramento, California, Meadowview Bloods' members during a home invasion. Police maintained that the boys intended reprisal against Harris' sons for the killing of two Crips. The weapon that was used to kill Harris was never found, and X-Raided maintains that he is innocent. During the trial, the prosecution cited lyrics from ''Psycho Active'' as evidence, and X-Raided was sentenced to 31 years in prison. He was released on parole on September 14, 2018 after serving 26 years in prison.
