EA Salt Lake
EA Salt Lake was an American video game developer located in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. It was owned by video game publisher Electronic Arts (EA). History EA Salt Lake was founded by the studio's president, Vance Cook, as Headgate Studios in 1992. As a veteran programmer for years at Access Software, the onetime premier developer of golf simulations, Cook had the experience and knowledge of how to create a rewarding golfing experience. Headgate's first product was PentaCalc, a scientific calculator for Windows. In April 1996 the studio was purchased by Sierra On-Line. Initially, Headgate solely developed golf games published by Sierra, starting with '' Front Page Sports: Golf''. On February 22, 1999 Sierra announced a major restructuring of their company, and sold the rights of the original studio back to Cook as a new corporate entity. GameSpy
GameSpy was an American provider of online multiplayer and matchmaking middleware for video games founded in 1996 by Mark Surfas. After the release of a multiplayer server browser for the game, QSpy, Surfas licensed the software under the GameSpy brand to other video game publishers through a newly established company, GameSpy Industries, which also incorporated his Planet Network of video game news and information websites, and GameSpy.com. GameSpy merged with IGN in 2004; by 2014, its services had been used by over 800 video game publishers and developers since its launch. In August 2012, the GameSpy Industries division (which remained responsible for the GameSpy service) was acquired by mobile video game developer Glu Mobile. ''PGA Championship Golf 2000'' is a golf simulation game for Windows. It was developed by Headgate Studios and released by Sierra Sports. It follows '' PGA Championship Golf 1999 Edition''. An upgraded version was released in December 2000, under the title ''PGA Championship Golf Titanium Edition''. Gameplay The game features 13 courses, including 8 from '' PGA Championship Golf 1999 Edition''. Features of the game include tour play, and several versions of play used to score golf including match play and stableford. There is a community of players who visiGolf Sim Clubhouseto discuss the game on a forum and meet up to play online.
