E. P. Poulose
E. P. Poulose (2 October 1909 – 17 November 1983) was an Indian lawyer and politician who served in the Kerala Legislative Assembly from 1957 until 1965, representing the Ramamangalam constituency. A member of the Indian National Congress, Poulose was the Minister for Food and Agriculture of Kerala from 1960 until 1964. Biography E. P. Poulose was born on 2 October 1909 in the village of Ramamangalam, then part of the princely state of Travancore. In 1933, Poulose received a law degree and began working as a lawyer. A Syrian Christian, Poulose joined the Indian National Congress in 1935 and became a member of the Indian independence movement. Due to this affiliation, he was briefly imprisoned by British authorities in 1946. In 1948, Poulose was elected to the Travancore Legislative Assembly. Chief Minister Of Kerala
The chief minister of Kerala is the chief executive of the Indian state of Kerala. In accordance with the Constitution of India, the governor is a state's ''de jure'' head, but ''de facto'' executive authority rests with the chief minister. Following elections to the Kerala Legislative Assembly, the state's governor usually invites the party (or coalition) with a majority of seats to form the government. The governor appoints the chief minister, whose council of ministers are collectively responsible to the assembly. The dowry system in India refers to the durable goods, cash, and real or movable property that the bride's family gives to the groom, his parents and his relatives as a condition of the marriage. Dowry is referred to dahez in Hindi and as ''jahez'' in Urdu. The dowry system can put great financial burden on the bride's family. Kerala Congress is an Indian political party founded at Kottayam, Kerala in October, 1964, by a block of former Indian National Congress leaders led by K. M. George.
