E. Jack Neuman
Ernest Jack Neuman (February 27, 1921 – January 15, 1998) was an Edgar and Peabody award-winning American writer and producer. Early years Neuman was born in Toledo, Ohio. He moved to Denver, Colorado, as a child and graduated from Regis Jesuit High School. He attended Colorado State College in Greeley and then transferred to the University of Missouri, where he majored in journalism. He served in the U.S. Marines in World War II in the radio division of Special Services. Career Neuman wrote for dramatic radio shows such as '' On Stage''; ''Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar; Richard Diamond, Private Detective''; ''Hallmark Hall of Fame''; ''Fort Laramie''; ''Pursuit''; and ''Suspense.'' Toledo ( ) is a city in and the county seat of Lucas County, Ohio, United States. ''Hallmark Playhouse'' is an American old-time radio dramatic anthology series. It was broadcast on CBS from June 10, 1948 until February 1, 1953, and was described by one author as "a program that consistently produced the highest levels of production quality and value." Beginning on February 8, 1953, the program underwent changes of title, host, and format. It was broadcast as ''The Hallmark Hall of Fame'' until March 27, 1955, still on CBS. Playhouse format ''Hallmark Playhouse'' began as a summer replacement for ''Radio Reader's Digest'', which Hallmark had also sponsored. Company officials decided to keep it for the fall of 1948 and drop its predecessor. Marian Chulay (August 23, 1931 – September 3, 2021) was an American film and television actress. She was known for playing Marilyn Scott in the American drama television series ''Mr. Novak''. Life and career Collier was born in East Chicago, Indiana, the daughter of Romanian parents Valeria and John Chulay. She was the sister of assistant director and production manager, John C. Chulay who died in October 1988, from a heart attack on the set of the new ABC sitcom television series ''Coach''. Collier attended Washington High School. She moved to New York to become a model.
