E.H.P.
E.H.P. (Établissements Henry Precloux) was a French automobile manufacturer. History The ''Établissements Henry Precloux'' commenced building light cars in Courbevoie ( Paris) in 1921. In 1926 they incorporated Automobiles Bignan. In 1929 production was halted. A company called Loryc also license-built E.H.P. cars in Spain. Cars E.H.P. focused on small and lightweight automobiles. Originally they used a Ruby 903 cc four-cylinder, later engines from other manufacturers of up to 1.5 liters were installed. After the Bignan takeover, their '' 8CV'' cars were also offered as E.H.P.s. The 8CV was originally fitted with a 1,202 cc and CIME engine, later a 20 PS and a 29 PS "Grand Sport" version were added. In 1928 the ''DU'' model appeared, fitted with an inline-six of 1,300 cc. 1925 24 Hours Of Le Mans
The 1925 24 Hours of Le Mans was the 3rd Grand Prix of Endurance, and took place on 20 and 21 June 1925. It was the last of the three races spanning 1923 to 1925 to determine the winner of the Rudge-Whitworth Triennial Cup, as well the second race of the inaugural Biennial Cup. Regulations The Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) was pleased with how the 1924 regulations had worked. They adjusted the hood-test so that all cars could do it at the same time. The start was the logical point and to stop drivers from jumping the gun they would be lined up on the opposite side of the track. When the flag fell, they would run across, put the hood up and then start the car and get away as quick as possible. 1928 24 Hours Of Le Mans
The 1928 24 Hours of Le Mans was the 6th Grand Prix of Endurance that took place at the Circuit de la Sarthe on 16 and 17 June 1928. Bentley director Woolf Barnato and Australian-born Bernard Rubin in a Bentley 4½ Litre gave the company back-to-back victories after a race-long duel with the Stutz of Édouard Brisson and Robert Bloch. In the process they won the inaugural prize for overall distance. The big publicity from the previous year's race and the White House crash raised manufacturer interest and several British and American companies brought teams to the race.Clausager 1982, p.38-9 In fact foreign cars outnumbered French ones for the first time. Ruby (car)
Ruby was a French manufacturer of cyclecars. After automobile production ended they remained in business as an engine builder. Company history The company which built the Ruby cars and engines was called H. Godefroy et Lévêque and was located in Levallois-Perret, in northwestern Paris. In 1909 they began building automobiles under their own names, the production of which ended by 1922. After the building of automobiles came to an end the company proceeded to develop and sell proprietary engines to a large number of small light car manufacturers. Some of the earlier cyclecars were marketed under the "Super" brand until 1919 or thereabouts.
