E-SDS
{{unreferenced, date=September 2011 e-SDS, otherwise known as an extended SDS. An extended SDS is a document of chemical safety. It is much longer and detailed than the standard SDS. It consists of a standard SDS which has more subsections than the general one, and an additional annex containing one or more exposure scenario(s). The necessity of e-SDS The 1907/2006/EC REACH prescribes that those substances, which: * is produced in more than 10 tonnes/year, and * considered as hazardous substance, exposure scenarios have to be prepared. These exposure scenarios have to be appended to the SDS, therefore a so-called extended SDS (e-SDS) is created. Exposure Scenario
{{unreferenced, date=September 2011 The ''exposure scenario'' (sometimes referred as: ES) is a document of chemical safety which has to be prepared for substances that are manufactured/imported in quantities of more than 10 tonnes/year in/to the territory of the EU, and are considered to be hazardous or PBT/vPvB substances. The aim of the ES The exposure scenario is a system of conditions that describes that how a given substance (on its own or in mixtures/articles) is manufactured or used during its life cycle, and which control methods are prescribed/recommended by the manufacturer/importer/downstream user to avoid/reduce the human and environmental exposure. The content of the ES The exposure scenario must contain the appropriate risk assessment measures and operational conditions which ensure that all the risks arising from the use of the substance can be controlled appropriately. Safety Data Sheet
A safety data sheet (SDS), material safety data sheet (MSDS), or product safety data sheet (PSDS) is a document that lists information relating to occupational safety and health for the use of various substances and products. SDSs are a widely used system for cataloguing information on chemicals, chemical compounds, and chemical mixtures. SDS information may include instructions for the safe use and potential hazards associated with a particular material or product, along with spill-handling procedures. The older MSDS formats could vary from source to source within a country depending on national requirements; however, the newer SDS format is internationally standardized. An SDS for a substance is not primarily intended for use by the general consumer, focusing instead on the hazards of working with the material in an occupational setting. Chemical Safety
Chemicals as elements, compounds, mixtures, solutions and emulsions are very widely used and transported in the modern industrial society.
