Dzherman (river)
The Dzherman ( bg, Джерман) is a river in south-western Bulgaria, a left tributary of the Struma, flowing through the municipalities of Sapareva Banya, Dupnitsa and Boboshevo in Kyustendil Province. The river is 47.8 km long and drains the northwestern sections of the Rila mountain range. Name The name of the river is a modification of the name of the ancient Thracian settlement of ''Germa'', founded near the hot mineral springs on the left bank of the river at modern Sapareva Banya. During the Roman rule the settlement was transformed into the fortified city of ''Germanea''. The river is mentioned with name ''Germanshitsa'' in the 1378 Rila Charter of the Bulgarian emperor Ivan Shishman (r. 1371–1395), which was later modified to Dzherman during the Ottoman rule. Seven Rila Lakes
The Seven Rila Lakes ( bg, Седемте рилски езера, Sedemte rilski ezera, ) are a group of glacial lakes, situated in the northwestern Rila Mountain in Bulgaria. They are the most visited group of lakes in Bulgaria. The lakes are situated between 2,100 and 2,500 metres elevation above sea level. Each lake carries a name associated with its most characteristic feature. The highest one is called ''Salzata'' ("The Tear") due to its clear waters that allow visibility in depth. The next one in height carries the name ''Okoto'' ("The Eye") after its almost perfectly oval form. Okoto is the deepest cirque lake in Bulgaria, with a depth of 37.5 m. Rilska River
The Rilska River ( bg, Рилска река, ''Rilska reka'', "Rila River") is a river in south-western Bulgaria, a left tributary of the Struma. The river is 51 km long and drains the western sections of the Rila mountain range. Geography Under the name Manastirska River, it takes its source from the north-eastern corner of the Upper Fish Lake in the western part of Central Rila at an altitude of 2,225 m in a cirque surrounded by the peaks Yosifitsa (2,697 m) in the east, Kanarata (2,666 m) in the south and Kyoravitsa (2,612 m) in the west. Slatino, Kyustendil Province
Slatino ( bg, Слатино) is a village in Boboshevo Municipality, Kyustendil Province, south-western Bulgaria. As of 2013 it has 417 inhabitants. I-1 Road (Bulgaria)
Republic road I-1 () is a major road in western Bulgaria. It runs between the New Europe Bridge, at the Danube border with Romania, and the village of Kulata, at the border crossing to Greece. The total length of the road is . Most of it provides one driving lane per direction and it is planned to be superseded or replaced in all sections by either motorways, or expressways. The Skakavitsa Waterfall (, ) is the highest waterfall in the Rila Mountains in Bulgaria. It is part of Rila National Park and is located on the Skakavitsa River. The waterfall is situated on approximately 2,000 m above sea level, the water falling down from 70 m.
