Dyshod Carter (born June 18, 1978) is a former American football cornerback who played for the New England Patriots in 2003 before being allocated to the Scottish Claymores of the NFL Europe League. Carter also played for the Cleveland Browns and the Arizona Cardinals of the NFL. A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses. They create turnovers through hard tackles, interceptions, and deflecting forward passes. Other members of the defensive backfield include strong and free safeties.
