Dušan Velkaverh
Dušan Velkaverh (12 September 1943 – 1 February 2016) was a Slovenian lyricist. Early life Dušan Velkaverh was born on 12 September 1943 in Georgetown, British Guiana (now Guyana) to a Slovene sailor and an English nurse. In 1942, during World War II, his father joined the crew of an alliance ship, torpedoed off the coast of South America. He met his wife, a daughter of a colonial clerk, in the hospital where he was recovering. Velkaverh was born a year later. Soon after his birth, the family moved to New York City, where they stayed for a short period of time. Shortly after that, the family moved to London. In 1948, they moved to Yugoslavia. At first, they lived in Belgrade, where his father got the job as a deputy of the minister of shipping, then they relocated to Rijeka. The Križanke Outdoor Theatre (''Poletno gledališče Križanke'') is a theatre in Ljubljana, Slovenia, used for summer festivals set up inside the courtyard of the former Monastery of the Holy Cross. It is located at French Revolution Square (''Trg francoske revolucije'') no. 1. Nuša Derenda (, born Anuška Žnideršič on March 30, 1969 in Brežice, SR Slovenia, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Slovenian singer who represented Slovenia at the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, Denmark where she achieved 7th place. Biography At the age of two and a half, Derenda's parents became aware of her singing talent. She always loved to sing and perform in front of an audience. Vlado Kreslin (born 29 November 1953) is a Slovenian singer-songwriter and folk rock musician. Life and work Kreslin was born in the village of Beltinci in the Prekmurje region of Slovenia, then part of Yugoslavia. He began his musical career in his student years, first coming to acclaim as the lead singer with the rock group ''Martin Krpan''. Oto Pestner (born January 4, 1956 in Celje) is a politician and one of the most prominent singers and composers of popular music from Slovenia. Janez Bončina
Janez Bončina, nicknamed Benč (born 3 December 1947) is a Slovenian composer, guitarist and singer. He is one of the leading authors and performers of Slovenian and Yugoslavian rock music. In the middle of the 1960s, Bončina with his friend Tomaž Domicelj from the group Helioni, showed his talent for music. Majda Sepe, born Majda Bernard, (2 July 1937 – 11 April 2006) was one of the most successful and well recognized Slovenian singers in the time of Yugoslavia and was one of the most renowned singers of the Golden Age of Slovenian folk music. ''Bele Vrane'' (trans. ''The White Crows'') were a Yugoslav rock band formed in Ljubljana in 1966. Soon after the formation the band gained the attention of the media with their the Mamas & the Papas-influenced sound.
