Dutch Defence Materiel Administration
The Dutch Command Materiel and IT (COMMIT) agency ( nl, Commando Materieel en IT, COMMIT), formerly known as the Dutch Defence Materiel Organization (DMO), is a Dutch government agency that reports to the Ministry of Defence (Netherlands), Ministry of Defence. The agency is responsible for the supply of materiel for the Netherlands Armed Forces, Dutch armed forces. It is located in Utrecht. In April 2023 a name change for the organization was announced. It changed form ''Defence Materiel Organization'' to ''Command Materiel and IT''. Lynx (multiple Rocket Launcher)
Lynx is a multiple rocket launcher developed and manufactured by Israel Military Industries (IMI) and used by Israel Defense Forces and other countries. Future Of The Royal Netherlands Navy
In April 2018, the Dutch Government approved a multi-year investment program for the Dutch Navy and allocated funds for the 2018–2030 period. The Dutch Defence Materiel Administration (DMO) is in charge of the procurement of these new ships. City-class Mine Countermeasures Vessel
The Netherlands and Belgium are doing a joint procurement for the replacements of the Tripartite-class/''Alkmaar''-class minehunters. Both countries want to procure six new mine countermeasure (MCM) vessels, which makes for a total of 12 MCM ships. The new MCM ships will include a range of unmanned systems including unmanned surface, aerial and underwater vehicles alongside towed sonars and mine identification and neutralization ROVs. Anti-Submarine Warfare Frigate (Koninklijke Marine)
The Anti-Submarine Warfare Frigate (ASWF) is a project of the Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN, Dutch: Koninklijke Marine) and Belgian Navy to replace the existing Multipurpose- or M-frigates. The project shows similarities to the British Global Combat Ship (also formerly named FSC program) but development is fully separate. Context The current M-frigates, originally all built in the Netherlands but apart from two units sold to Belgium, Portugal, and Chile are reaching their planned retirement age around 2020. Rocket Artillery
Rocket artillery is artillery that uses rocket explosives as the projectile. The use of rocket artillery dates back to medieval China where devices such as fire arrows were used (albeit mostly as a psychological weapon). Fire arrows were also used in multiple launch systems and transported via carts. First true rocket artillery was developed in India by the Kingdom of Mysore. In the late nineteenth century, due to improvements in the power and range of conventional artillery, the use of early military rockets declined; they were finally used on a small scale by both sides during the American Civil War.
