Durham Region EMS
Region of Durham Paramedic Service provides emergency medical services to Durham Region in Ontario, Canada. The service has 315 paramedics in eleven EMS stations throughout the region. The service began in 2000 and replaced six different contractors to the Ontario Ministry of Health. Organization Rail ambulances A rail ambulance is a vehicle used for medical transportation services on railway lines. The first rail ambulance was set up in 1920, in order to enable injured people to be transported to the nearest hospital, was set up in the coalmining community of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
