Duraid Kashmoula
Duraid Mohammed Kashmoula ( ar, دريد كشمولة; born 1943) is an Iraqi people, Iraqi politician who served as Governor of Nineveh Province from July 2004 to April 2009. Kashmoula became Governor following the assassination of his cousin, Osama Youssef Kashmoula, who was killed while driving to Baghdad. During his term as Governor he was the target of several assassination attempts from Sunni militants that disapproved of his working with the new Iraqi government. Other members of his family have also been targeted, with his 17-year-old son being assassinated in September 2004, and his brother in late 2006. Nine of his cousins have been killed as well as 17 of his bodyguards. Following the end of his governorship he moved to Arbil. Nineveh Province
Nineveh Governorate ( ar, محافظة نينوى, syr, ܗܘܦܪܟܝܐ ܕܢܝܢܘܐ, Hoparkiya d’Ninwe, ckb, پارێزگای نەینەوا, Parêzgeha Neynewa), also known as Ninawa Governorate, is a Governorates of Iraq, governorate in northern Iraq. It has an area of and an estimated population of 2,453,000 people as of 2003. Its largest city and provincial capital is Mosul, which lies across the Tigris river from the ruins of ancient Nineveh. Osama Youssef Kashmoula
Osama Youssef Kashmoula was a governor of Mosul who was killed in an attack in 2004. Kashmoula was assaulted between the cities of Beiji and Tikrit, north of Baghdad, as he went to the capital. Atheel al-Nujaifi ( ar, أثيل النجيفي; tr, Esil Nuceyfi; born 1958) is an Iraqi politician who was the Governor of Nineveh Governorate from April 2009 until May 2015. Nujaifi was born into a Mawsili family in 1958. He is a brother of the Vice-President of Iraq, Osama al-Nujaifi.
