Dukla Pumpherston
Dukla Pumpherston is a charity football team based in Scotland, and is captained by Scottish football pundit Chick Young. The name was based on the fictional team "Dukla Pumpherston Sawmill and Tannery" created by Tony Roper in 1980s comedy programme '' Naked Radio''; the name is a comic juxtaposition of the sophisticated European-sounding name of Czech team Dukla Prague with that of tiny Scottish village Pumpherston. Roper himself has also played for the team. The players have been described as a motley crew of former professional players and television personalities who tour the country - indeed the world - enjoying themselves while raising cash for worthy causes. They have been described as "a drinking team with a football problem". Gerry McCabe (footballer)
Gerry McCabe (born 26 September 1956, in Hamilton) is a Scottish football player and coach. Playing career McCabe had a lengthy playing career that lasted almost two decades. He made over 200 league appearances for a Clydebank side that steamrollered through the divisions to the Scottish Premier Division. In 1977, he played abroad in the National Soccer League with Windsor Stars, and the following season with Toronto Italia. In 1990, he played with the Victoria Vistas. Towards the end of his playing career, he started coaching Celtic youth players. Coaching career After retiring as a player McCabe worked as assistant manager to Bobby Williamson at Kilmarnock. McCabe then went on to be assistant manager to Williamson at his next two managerial positions at Hibernian and Plymouth Argyle. Partick Thistle FC
Partick Thistle Football Club are a professional football club from Glasgow, Scotland. Despite their name, the club are based at Firhill Stadium in the Maryhill area of the city, and have not played in Partick since 1908. The club have been members of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) since its formation in 2013. In the 2020–21 season, Thistle won Scottish League One, the third tier of the SPFL structure, and returned to the Scottish Championship, having been relegated from there in 2019–20. Brian Martin (footballer, Born 1963)
Brian Martin (born 24 February 1963 in Bellshill) is a Scottish former footballer who played as a central defender, best known for his seven-year spell at Motherwell. Club career Martin began his career in the Scottish lower leagues with Albion Rovers and Stenhousemuir. He then dropped back into the Junior grade with Shotts Bon Accord for three years before joining second-tier Falkirk in 1985. In his first season with the ''Bairns'' the club achieved promotion to the top division, and maintained their status in the second. In 1987 Martin moved to Hamilton Academical, and in his single campaign there he again helped the ''Accies'' win promotion, this time as champions. David John Irons (born 18 July 1961 in Glasgow) is a Scottish former football player and coach. Irons' playing career spanned 26 years as a central defender or midfielder for a host of clubs, most notably for Ayr United, Clydebank, Dunfermline Athletic and Partick Thistle. Brian McPhee
Brian McPhee (born 23 October 1970 in Glasgow, Scotland) is a Scottish retired footballer who last played for Wishaw Juniors. He had a long career as a striker in the Scottish Football League with several clubs. Career McPhee joined Queen's Park in 1993 and turned professional with Airdrieonians in 1996. During his time at Airdrie, McPhee narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier Division when the club lost in an end of season play-off to Hibernian in 1997. After growing dissatisfied with his regular use as a substitute by manager Alex MacDonald, McPhee rejected a new contract offer from Airdrie and after trials in Greece and Holland, signed for Livingston in July 1998. James McMillan Chapman (born 26 July 1965) is a Scottish football player and coach who is currently in his second spell as manager of Kilmarnock FC Women. Chapman played for Albion Rovers and Dumbarton as a forward. He has previously managed Annan Athletic, Albion Rovers, Dumbarton and Clyde.
