Dudley Colley
Dudley Colley (ca. 1621 – July 1674) was an Irish Member of Parliament. He was the son of Sir Henry Colley (ca. 1585-1637) and Anne Peyton, daughter of Sir Christopher Peyton. The Colley or Cowley family had come to Ireland from Rutland about 1500 and produced a line of Crown servants and soldiers. Dudley's great-grandfather Sir Henry Colley acquired Carbury Castle in 1554. Dudley's father acquired substantial lands in County Wexford. He represented Philipstown in the Irish House of Commons during the Parliament of Charles II. By his marriage to Anne Warren he was father of Henry Colley and grandfather of Henry Colley, Garret Wesley, and Richard Wesley, 1st Baron Mornington, all of whom also sat in the Irish House of Commons. Garret Wesley
Garret Wesley (circa 1665 – 28 September 1728) was an Irish Member of Parliament. He represented Trim from 1692 to 1693, Athboy from 1695 to 1699, County Meath from 1711 to 1714 and then Trim again from 1727 to his death. He was the son of Garret Wesley I and Elizabeth Colley. He married Katherine Keating but had no issue. His maternal great-grandfather was Dudley Colley: on his death he left his property to his cousin Richard Wesley, 1st Baron Mornington, on condition that he take the surname Wesley. Richard Colley Wesley, 1st Baron Mornington ( – 31 January 1758) was an Irish peer, best remembered as the grandfather of Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington. Sir Christopher Peyton (died 1612) was an English lawyer known for his service in Ireland where he oversaw the Peyton Survey, a preliminary investigation in preparation for the Plantation of Munster.
