Dublin Senior Hurling Championship 2006
This is a round-up of the 2006 Dublin Senior Hurling Championship. The previous champions were UCD, who did not have a chance to retain their title this year as they were not entered in the competition. Craobh Chiaráin won the 2006 championship by Ballyboden St Endas to claim their 8th title. Craobh went on to the Leinster senior club hurling championship preliminary round against Mount Leinster Rangers of Carlow. They defeated Mount Leinster Rangers to go on to the semi-final of the Leinster championship against Birr of Offaly. Quarterfinals Semi-final and Final Last 16 Final Craobh Chiaráins victory over Ballyboden St Endas meant that they progressed to the preliminary round of the Leinster championship against the Carlow hurling champions Mount Leinster Rangers. They lost heavily as was expected. Dublin GAA
The Dublin County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Luthchleas Gael Coiste Contae Átha Cliath) or Dublin GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in the Dublin Region and the Dublin county teams. Carlow Senior Club Hurling Championship
The Carlow Senior Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition contested by top-tier Carlow GAA clubs. Mount Leinster Rangers are the title holders (2020) defeating Ballinkillen in the Final. History Since 1927, with the exception of the 'foot and mouth' year of 1941, a 'Premier' Carlow Hurling Championship has been completed. Carlow's premier hurling championship was first awarded senior status in 1960, as the county team had won promotion to Division 1 of the N.H.L. following back-to-back Division 2 title wins. St Mullin's are the Carlow kingpins, with their 27 titles including pre-1960 titles that were won in Carlow's premier hurling competition in those days. 2006 Dublin Senior Football Championship
The 2006 Dublin Senior Football Championship was an edition of an annual Gaelic football competition organized by the Dublin County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association in Ireland. The competition used a modified knockout format. The previous champions in 2005 were Kilmacud Crokes, who were knocked out of the 2006 competition at the semi-final stage. UCD finished the 2006 championship as Dublin champions, by beating St Vincents in the final. Rounds 1-4 Round 1 The winners of their respective first-round games went on to qualify for the second round, the losers were given a second chance in a backdoor system which gave them a place in the third round when they won their backdoor tie. Gary Maguire
Gary Maguire (born 26 June 1983) is an Irish people, Irish former Hurling, hurler who played as a goalkeeper for the senior Dublin county hurling team, Dublin county team. Maguire made his first appearance for the team during the National Hurling League 2004, 2004 National League and has been Dublin's first-choice goalkeeper since then. Since then he has won one National Hurling League medal and one GAA All Stars Awards, All-Star award. Maguire has been a runner-up in two Leinster Senior Hurling Championship, Leinster finals. At club level Maguire plays with Ballyboden St Enda's GAA, Ballyboden St Enda's and has won five consecutive Dublin Senior Hurling Championship, county club championship medals. David Curtin
David Curtin (born 13 September 1980) is an inter-county hurling player who plays for Dublin. He plays his club hurling for Dublin side Ballyboden St Enda's. In 2005, he will be remembered for his astounding performance against Laois which confirmed Dublins All-Ireland status for the 2006 championship. Curtin finished the game with an impressive scoreline of 1-7. In the 2006 All-Ireland championship, this feat was repeated when Dublin swept aside Westmeath to once retain their Liam MacCarthy Cup status. He finished the 2006 championship with a scoreline of 0-33, a scoreline which left him 5th of the top scorer list despite Dublins lack of progress in the All-Ireland championship. Stephen Hiney
Stephen Hiney (born 27 October 1983) is a Hurling, hurler for Ballyboden St Enda's GAA, Ballyboden St Enda's and formerly Dublin GAA, Dublin. Hiney was the 2008 captain of the Dublin Senior Hurling team. Hiney won his first Dublin Senior Hurling Championship medal with his club Ballyboden St Enda's in October 2007 his second in 2008, his third (with a sore leg) in 2009 and his fourth in 201The 2007 Dublin championship win qualified Ballyboden to play in their first ever Leinster Senior Club Hurling Championship game against Oulart-The Ballagh of Wexford GAA, Wexford. Conal Keaney
Conal Keaney (born 24 September 1982) is an Irish Gaelic football, footballer and Hurling, hurler who played for Dublin GAA, Dublin and Ballyboden St Enda's GAA, Ballyboden St Enda's. He was educated in Terenure College. Football career He was part of the Dublin GAA, Dublin side that won the All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship in 2003. Dublin Senior Hurling Championship
The Dublin Senior Hurling Championship ( ga, Craobh Sinsear Iomána Átha Cliath) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Dublin GAA, Dublin County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (Gaelic Athletic Association, GAA) since 1887 for the top hurling clubs in County Dublin, Ireland. Sixteen clubs compete. Initially the teams are divided into four groups of four with the group matches being played from April to May with a break to accommodate the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, All-Ireland Championship and resume during August or September. Leinster Senior Club Hurling Championship
The Leinster Senior Club Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Leinster GAA Hurling Senior Club Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Leinster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the champion senior clubs in the province of Leinster in Ireland. It is the most prestigious club competition in Leinster hurling. Introduced in 1971, it was initially a straight knockout tournament open to all 12 county senior champions from the 1970 championship season. The competition is currently limited to the eight champion club teams from the strongest hurling counties in Leinster.
