Dublin Roller Derby (DRD) is a women's flat track roller derby league based in Dublin, Ireland. Founded in 2009, Dublin Roller Derby is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). History The Dublin Roller Girls were the first roller derby league to form in Ireland. Their intra-league bout in June 2011 was the first public roller derby in the country. In their first bouting season, the Dublin Roller Girls played seven bouts, scoring four wins. Nine skaters from the league were selected for Team Ireland at the Roller Derby World Cup in 2011, while Dublin also supplied the head coach and the manager for the team. In early 2012, they moved to the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght. That year, Dublin's A team played ten bouts with seven wins. The No Coast Roller Derby is a co-ed flat track roller derby league based in Lincoln, Nebraska. Founded in 2005, the league currently consists of two mixed teams which compete against teams from other leagues. No Coast is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). League history The league was founded after a Lincoln-based band toured to Austin, Texas, and got to know members of Texas Rollergirls. WFTDA Championships
The International Women's Flat Track Derby Association Championships ("WFTDA Championships" or "Champs" for short) are the leading competition for roller derby leagues. The Championships are organised by the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). They originated in 2006 as the National WFTDA Championship. The "Dust Devil" tournament was contested in front of several thousand fans in Tucson, Arizona. Women's Flat Track Derby Association Rankings
Rankings for the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) are used to determine placement in overall standings (rather than win–loss record) and also to determine seedings at WFTDA Playoffs. Achieving high rankings is also a goal for teams aiming to increase their stature in the organization. Each year at the end of June, teams are seeded into Division 1 and Division 2 playoff tournaments. Historically, the top 40 teams in the WFTDA as of June 30 were eligible for Division 1 tournaments that season, and the teams ranked 41–60 were eligible for Division 2 tournaments. For 2017, the Division 1 cutoff was reduced to the top 36 teams, with the next 16 teams qualifying for Division 2 Playoffs. Naptown Roller Derby (NRD) is a women's flat-track roller derby league based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Founded in 2006, the league started their 10th season in March 2016. Naptown Roller Derby is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). The home bouts of Naptown Roller Derby are held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. League history Naptown Roller Girls first formed in 2006, with ad hoc practices in public spaces, and first held a competitive bout in 2007.
