Dubai Culture And Arts Authority
The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) is an authority under Government of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, which works in preservation of the cultural heritage and support of cultural scene in Dubai. History Established in 2008 by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as an entity to manage and support the art and culture infrastructure in the Emirate as well as preservation of the cultural heritage. The authority was part of Dubai's 2015 strategy for cultural development. in September 5th, 2019, Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rahsid Al Maktoum was appointed the Chairperson of the authority and in 2019 Hala Badri was appointed Director General of the organisation. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum ( ar, محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم, links=no; ; born 15 July 1949) is the vice president, prime minister, and minister of defence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as well as the ruler of Dubai. He is the third son of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, former vice president of the UAE and ruler of Dubai. Mohammed succeeded his brother Maktoum as vice president and ruler following the latter's death in 2006. A billionaire, Mohammed generates most of his income from real estate and is described as "one of the world's most prominent real estate developers". Dubai Metro
The Dubai Metro is a rapid transit rail network in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is currently operated by the French company Keolis. The Red Line and Green Line are operational, with a major 15 km (9.3 mi) extension to the Red Line known as Route 2020 to the Expo 2020 site announced in April 2015 and opened in 2021. These first two lines run underground in the city centre and on elevated viaducts elsewhere. All trains are fully automated and driverless, and, together with stations, are air conditioned with platform edge doors. Tashkeel is an art facility in the United Arab Emirates. Established in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in 2008 by Lateefa bint Maktoum, Tashkeel seeks to provide a nurturing environment for the growth of contemporary art and design practice rooted in the UAE. Al Sufouh Archaeological Site
Al Sufouh Archaeological Site at Al Sufouh in Dubai is owned and managed by Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, and consists of extensive but scattered areas of ancient occupation by a population known as the Magan. The site is distinguished by heavy concentrations of burnt ash, shell, pottery and bones on its surface. The archaeological excavation conducted at the site between 1994 and 1995 revealed an Umm Al-Nar type circular tomb dating between 2500 and 2000 B.C. The tomb is circular, 6.5 m in diameter and constructed of unworked stone blocks faced with a single outer ring wall of well-masoned ashlars. Entry to the tomb is through two doorways on opposite points of the ring wall on a NE/SW alignment. Double access was necessary as the internal NW/SE dividing wall allowed no communication between the two halves of the tomb. Each half of the tomb was divided into three chambers.
