João Evangelista Belfort Duarte, commonly known as Belfort Duarte (November 27, 1883 – November 27, 1918), was a Brazilian football central defender. The Belfort Duarte Award is named after him. Playing career Born in São Luís, Maranhão state, he started his career in 1902, with Mackenzie College, where he translated the football rules to Portuguese. He was also one of the club's founders. Bela Duarte is an artist from Cape Verde, Born in the island of São Vicente and was studied decorative arts in Lisbon, Portugal. During the Portuguese Carnation Revolution in 1974, she returned to Cape Verde in Mindelo, together with Manuel Figueira and Luísa Queirós, she made the ''Cooperativa da Resistência'' (''The Resistance Cooperative''). She saw the ethnological research, over arts and crafts and works from the Cape Verde Islands, making it today the greatest person in the archipelago. Bela Duarte made her works and painted in oil and acrylic, batik maker, webbing and one other. Arsénio Trindade Duarte (16 October 1925 – 11 February 1986), simply known as Arsénio, was a Portuguese footballer who played as a forward. He amassed Primeira Liga totals of 313 games and 211 goals during 16 seasons, most notably at Benfica. Club career Born in Barreiro, Setúbal District, Arsénio started his career at local F.C. Barreirense, first appearing with the senior team at only 15 against Sporting Clube de Portugal, in a testimonial match for Francisco Câmara.
