Dry River is a perennial river of the Murrah River catchment, located in the South Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. Course and features Dry River rises below Murrabrine Mountain on the eastern slopes of the Kybeyan Range, that is part of the Great Dividing Range, located approximately west of Cobargo and flows generally southeast before reaching its confluence with the Mumbulla Creek to form the Murrah River, approximately southeast by south of Quaama. A perennial stream is a stream that has continuous flow of surface water throughout the year in at least parts of its catchment during seasons of normal rainfall, Water Supply Paper 494. as opposed to intermittent river, one whose flow is intermittent. In the absence of irregular, prolonged or extreme drought, a perennial stream is a watercourse, or segment, element or emerging body of water which continually delivers groundwater. Quaama, New South Wales
Quaama is a village in the Bega Valley Shire, in the South Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. The village is located along the Princes Highway between Cobargo and Brogo, 30 km north of the town of Bega. It had a resident population of 281 at the 2016 Census. The village was formerly known as Dry River (a name linked to the nearby Dry River) until the early 1900s, and was later known as "Quaamaa"; the present spelling was assigned in 1999. Many of Quaama's important community buildings have a long history: the Quaama Public School was founded in 1877, the School of Arts was established in 1902, and the local Anglican church celebrated its centenary in 2007. Quaama also has a general store with a post office, and a bushfire brigade. Cobargo is a village in the south-east area of the state of New South Wales in Australia in Bega Valley Shire. At the , Cobargo had a population of 776 people. It is 386 km south of Sydney on the Princes Highway between Narooma, New South Wales, Narooma and Bega, New South Wales, Bega. The town suffered heavy losses during the 2019 bushfires.
