Drogheda
Drogheda ( , ; , meaning "bridge at the ford") is an industrial and port town in County Louth on the east coast of Ireland, north of Dublin. It is located on the Dublin–Belfast corridor on the east coast of Ireland, mostly in County Louth but with the south fringes of the town in County Meath, north of Dublin. Drogheda has a population of approximately 41,000 inhabitants (2016), making it the eleventh largest settlement by population in all of Ireland, and the largest town in the Republic of Ireland by both population and area. The ''Drogheda Leader'' is a regional newspaper published in Drogheda, County Louth, which serves Drogheda, East Meath and Mid-Louth. The newspaper is printed (but not owned) by Celtic Media Group. The newspaper was established in 1995 with an initial circulation of 12,000. It expanded rapidly into one of the North East of Ireland's largest newspapers with a circulation of 29,000 newspapers weekly.
