''Drive'' is the first extended play (EP) by American recording artist Amerie. It was released for online streaming and purchase on May 20, 2016 through her independent recording label Feeniix Rising Entertainment. It contains production by Mike City and Focus..., as well as long-time collaborators The Buchanans and Rich Harrison. Lead single "Out Loud" was released on March 16, 2015. It serves as her first musical release since her fourth studio album, '' In Love & War'' (2009). The EP was recorded during the same time her upcoming studio albums ''Cymatika, Vol. 1'' and ''BILI''. Her following EP was announced for July 2016, however, nothing came out from those plans. Amerie Mi Marie Nicholson ( Rogers; born January 12, 1980) is an American singer. Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, she gained an appreciation of the classical arts from her mother Mi Suk Rogers and of music from her father Charles Rogers, and she also studied dance from an early age and performed in talent contests. After her high school graduation, her family settled down in Virginia while she began to attend Georgetown University, from which she later graduated with a degree in English and Fine Arts. While living in Washington, D.C., she met producer Rich Harrison, who worked with such performers as Mary J. Blige, and began developing demos with her. The Floaters
The Floaters were an American R&B vocal group, from the Sojourner Truth housing projects in Detroit, Michigan, that formed in 1976. The group are best known for their 1977 song " Float On", which reached No. 2 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart, and No. 5 on the Irish Singles Chart. Career The band was formed by the former Detroit Emeralds' singer James Mitchell, with his brother Paul Mitchell, Larry Cunningham, Charles Clark, and the unrelated Ralph Mitchell. The Incredible Bongo Band, also known as Michael Viner's Incredible Bongo Band, was a project started in 1972 by Michael Viner, a record artist manager and executive at MGM Records. Viner was called on to supplement the soundtrack to the B-film ''The Thing With Two Heads''. The band's output consisted of upbeat, funky, instrumental music. "Apache" is a song written by Jerry Lordan and first recorded by Bert Weedon. Lordan played the song on ukulele to the Shadows while on tour, and liking the song, the group released their own version which topped the UK Singles Chart for five weeks in mid-1960. The Shadows' guitarist Hank Marvin developed the song's distinctive echo and vibrato sound.
