Drinking Water Directive 1998
The Drinking Water Directive 20202020/2184 is an EU law that protects the quality of drinking water and forms part of the regulation of water supply and sanitation in the European Union. Contents The Directive is intended to protect human health by laying down healthiness and purity requirements which must be met by drinking water within the Community (see water quality). It requires Member States to regularly report on the quality of drinking water to the European Commission and the public. It applies to all water intended for human consumption apart from natural mineral waters and waters which are medicinal products. Zinc is a chemical element with the symbol Zn and atomic number 30. Zinc is a slightly brittle metal at room temperature and has a shiny-greyish appearance when oxidation is removed. Sustainable Development Goal 6
Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6 or Global Goal 6) is about "clean water and sanitation for all". It is one of 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, the official wording is: "Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all." The goal has eight targets to be achieved by 2030. Progress toward the targets will be measured by using eleven indicators. The Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) is a section of Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) set up to regulate the public water supply companies in England and Wales. The Water Resources Act 1991 (WRA) is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that regulates water resources, water quality and pollution, and flood defence. The European Commission (EC) is the executive of the European Union (EU).
