Drammens Is is a former ice cream manufacturer based in Drammen, Norway. Drammens Is was founded in 1937. Among the brands made by Drammens Is were Gullkrone, Kjempe-Yes, Hip, Hawaii, Mr. Yankee, Break, Luksuspinne, Kjempe-Nuggi, Sjokoladepinne, Banansplit, Twin, Kokosboller and På Minuttet. On 4 June 1997, a car bomb exploded outside a Bandidos MC clubhouse in Drammen as a part of the Nordic Biker War. The Drammen factory was completely destroyed after a fire due to the bombing. Soon afterward the company was bought by Nestlé who took over the rights to the brands and made an agreement with Diplom-Is Diplom-Is AS is a Norwegian manufacturer of ice cream owned by the dairy group Tine. In 2005, the company produced of ice cream, and held a market share of 53% domestically. 1997 Drammen Bombing
On 4 June 1997, a bomb exploded outside the headquarters of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club chapter in Drammen, Norway, killing a passerby and injuring twenty-two others. Seven men associated with the rival Hells Angels Motorcycle Club were convicted of carrying out the attack. Background The attack happened during the final months of the Nordic Biker War, a turf war fought between the Bandidos and Hells Angels for control of criminal rackets in Scandinavia and Finland, in which nine people had been killed prior to the bombing.
